1) NO FREE MODELS
using free models makes you a noob
2) build appropiate
no stuff like dating places you get what I mean
3) inserting weapons is quite easy heres what to do
go to roblox studio
insert the weapon to the map
in the workspace drag the weapon to the starter pack
( you can also put stuff like teddy bears and other stuff in the starter pack)
4) for you beginners please don't use the roblox studio use the other one you might get confused
Tip( Don't start trying to build big start small and work yourself up in building
5) scripting may look easy but is hard to do if you don't know what to do
If you want to learn how to script check out youtube it might help

Thats the end hope you enjoyed :P

-Build Styles-
There are three types of builders in Roblox. The Studio Artist, the Inventor, and the Hybrid. I will explain these in detail later on.

1. The Studio Artist
This is build style is much harder for most people. I personally don't use this style, but it's a good way for building. The Studio Artist works in Roblox Studio, in Edit mode. With 'Edit' mode, they don't have access to the tools you can have in 'Build' mode. They still have access to the basic Copy, Move, and Delete tools, but won't have access to CFraming GUIs and CFrame Resize tools. This style gives much more mobility if you have a large map. I do NOT recommend this for beginners, as the controls are a bit overwhelming.

2. The Inventor
Well, you may ask, why is it called the Inventor? Well, an Inventor needs tools. This person is just that. They need the CFrame GUIs, CFrame Tools, and/or CFrame Resize tools. I personally use this style. It takes longer as you have to walk your character all over the place, but you have a wider range of tools. You have the CFrame Resize, CFrame GUI, and CFrame tool. These can all be found in free models. I recommend this for beginners.

3. The Hybrid
I probably won't have to describe this as much as the other two, but it's pretty straigh-forward. The Hybrid is what it's name is. They use both Inventor techniques and Studio Artist techniques. This is very hard to do, and I only recommend this to VETERAN BUILDERS. Veteran does NOT mean you have the Veteran Badge. By Veteran, I mean lots of experience.

Oh yes, let's get one thing straight. Using free models is OKAY. Ignore the people who flame you for using free models. Free models are there to help you. Use them as if they were second nature. The thing I do NOT want you do to is copy free models all over your place. That is just being lazy. If you do use free models, please give credit to the owner. I can not stress that enough.

Now, time for the tools. I may have to split this into a couple sections or more, as there is a fair amount of information.

-Tools-

1. The Copy Tool
Appearance: The Copy Tool is shaped like a magic wand. It's a black cylinder with a white tip.
Function: It is used for copying tools. If you click ONCE on a brick, a copy of that brick will appear above it. If you click ONCE and DRAG, a copy of the brick will stay with the cursor.

2. The Move Tool
Appearance: The Move Tool is just a script tool. There is no model for it.
Function: This tool is used to drag bricks. You can not drag a brick that is directly under another brick. Just click the brick ONCE and DRAG.

3. The Delete Tool
Appearance: The Delete Tool often looks like a hammer.
Function: It is what its name says. It deletes any brick you click on. Holding the mouse button down does not affect how many bricks it deletes.

4. Resize Tool
Appearance: This often takes the shape of a Measuring Tape.
Function: It is used to resize bricks, as what the name says. You can NOT resize bricks into other bricks or bricks that are positioned into other bricks. Just click the brick you want to resize, then click and drag one of the blue dots.

I have a CFrame gui in edit mode. :3
In fact, I can CFrame multiple bricks at the same time, and resize multiple bricks at the same time.

My addition to your neat guide:
Take as long as you need, NEVER rush, no matter what.Spend your free time thinking about the nittypgritty details of whatever you are going to make.When you are done with a certain section of your creation, go into solo mode (or play mode), and just hang out and criticise every single aspect of your model, then take as long as you need to fix it and get it just right.This technique is NOT for those who are lazy. ;)

-Tools [Cont.]-

5. The Surface Tool
Appearance: It's hard to describe, but it is a blue controller. It has a black stick in the middle of it, right on top of a red square.
Function: This tool is used for changing the surface of a brick to Weld, Studs, Inlet, etc. Just select the tool, click a surface from the GUI, and click on whatever side of the brick you want to change. Each of the surfaces have different effects.

6. The Material Tool
Appearance: It is shaped like an atom. It has silver rings placed around a red sphere, into the shape of a ball. On these rings are red and blue spheres.
Function; This tool is used to change the material of the brick to Grass, Plastic, Ice, etc. Just select the tool, click a material on the GUI, and click the brick you want to edit.

Practice using these tools to their best abilities. In the next section, I will talk about extra tools that Roblox did NOT make.

-Special Tools-

1. CFrame Tool
The CFrame Tool so mainly for beginner CFramers. This will almost never give you an exact measurement. This is used for rotating bricks and positioning them to where you want it to be. For example, if I put brick A above brick B, I use the CFrame Tool to rotate or place the brick INTO brick A. It's much easier to show you with visual aid, but sadly, this is a typing forum. I may/may not take a screenshot. Again, I do recommened this for beginner CFramers.

2. CFrame GUI
This is for average CFramers. Play around with it. Each of the arrows move or rotate the brick in a different way. The best CFrame GUIs can move a brick by 1/10 of a percent. Those are harder to find, but luckily I have on in my models. This tool is meant for getting exact measurements.

3. CFrame Resize
Many builders don't know of this tool. This is a special resize tool. It can do the same things the first resize tool can, but can do some extra things. It can resize a brick, even if it is positioned into a different brick. This tool is highly recommended to beginners and experts alike.

4. The Command Bar
The Command Bar is for expert CFramers. This is very hard to use, but it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you want to get into those elite building groups such as: GearWorks, EBR, LAR, and RAR. I do not have to explain where to find this, as once you are an expert builder, you will most likely find it sooner or later.

All of these tools can be found in free models, but you should PM me if you want to use the ones I recommend.

Now I will explain CFraming.

CFraming is a technique that MUST be used to become a great builder. Well, not a MUST, but it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Most great places have some sort of CFraming in them.

CFraming stands for Coordinate Framing. It is used to position bricks and rotate them. You can make anything you want with CFraming. Without it, you can only make brick figures. With CFraming, you can make a cylinder, without having to use a Cylinder mesh. As I explained earlier, there are many tools that can help you CFrame. You can make things from a simple mountain to a large skatepark.

Next I will talk about meshes. Meshes are NOT regular bricks. Meshes can take the shape of any object. However, I believe Roblox has stopped the creation of new meshes. But you can grab a mesh from a gear/hat giving machine. This is what I use to get my meshes. Meshes sometimes have something called a Texture. The Texture gives a "texture" to the mesh. For example, if the Cheese hat did not have that texture to make it look like a cheese, it would be plain and dull. Some people have figured out how to Retexture meshes, but I will not be talking about that in this guide.

Techniques. Finally. This might be the longest section of the guide, but it is HIGHLY RECOMMENED that you test out ALL of the tools I've explained. I will be using some of the terms, tools, and misc. that I explained earlier.

If you want a visual aid, please PM me and I will make time to show you.

-Techniques-

1. The Smooth Brick
You know when you copy a brick (not a mesh) onto another brick, and there's a crease/line between the two bricks? This technique is meant to remove that line. The trick is to CFrame the top brick just a little bit into the crease. This will remove the crease and make the two+ bricks look like one brick.

2. Quick CFraming
Not every little area of the map needs to be exact. You can just rotate the brick really quickly with the CFrame Tool (NOT the CFrame GUI). For example, if you are making a mountain, it takes too long to make every brick exact. Of course, if you have the time, you can make it exact. But nobody really cares about the mountains being in a precise position.

3. Triangles
You can make ANYTHING with triangles. Even spheres. Triangles are the best bricks to use, but you must make sure it is a MESH triangle. When it's a Mesh, you can resize it to anything you want. Many games use triangles to create the landscape, characters, and even weapons! For example, I'm pretty sure most of you have played CoD, Halo, or WoW. All of these games use triangles, but the triangles are so small, you can't see them. All the guns, characters, and landscape are all made from triangles.

Heres a tip: Command line, command line, command line. I pretty much only use studio for my building- and CFrames come up a lot. Using a combination of for loops and cframe techniques I can build- even RENDER- anything. The map for my galactic empires II game is a script generated galaxy, for example.

Basic command line techniques:

b = Instance.new("Part") -- this will create a brick
b.Parent = game.Workspace -- this will put it in the workspace
b.Anchored = true -- this will anchor the brick

to access a brick int he workspace you would use a line like this:

brick = game.Workspace["Name_Of_Brick_Here"]

for loops work like this:

for value = from, to, step do
--stuff
end

everything between the 'do' and the 'end' is repeated with the value of 'value' equaling from and then increasing by 'step' every loop until it equals 'to'. If step is not defined, then it will equal 1

Basic example:

for i=1, 10, 2 do
print(i)
end

that will print the following into your output box:

1
3
5
7
9

For loops are greate for creating grid patterns of bricks

example:

for x = -5, 5 do
for y = -5, 5 do
b = game.Workspace.Brick:Clone()
b.CFrame = CFrame.new(x*b.Size.x, 10, y*b.Size.y)
b.Parent = game.Workspace
end
end

Or creating circles:

radius = 200
numberofbricks = 50
cf = CFrame.new(0, 10, 0)
for i=1, numberofbricks do
cf = cf*CFrame.Angles(0, math.rad((360/numberofbricks)*i), 0)
b = game.Workspace.Brick:Clone()
b.CFrame = cf*CFrame.new(0, 0, -radius)
b.Parent = game.Workspace
end

CFrames work generally like this:

CFrame.new(x, y, z) will create a new cframe at position x, y, z
CFrame.new(Vector3.new(x, y, z), Vector3.new(x2, y2, z2) will create a cframe at position x, y, z, POINTING at x2, y2, z2
*CFrame.Angles(x_radians, y_radians, z_radians) when another cframe is multiplied by a cframe.Angles it will rotate by x, y, z. **ROTATIONS ARE IN RADIANS** A radian is a unit of angle measure where the arc leangth of 1 radian is equal to the radias of the circle. 2*math.pi() will equal a full rotation. Use math.rad(degrees) to conver degrees to radians.
*CFrame.new(x, y, z) will, when multiplied by another cframe, move that cframe by x, y, z relative to the direction of the transformed cframe.
+CFrame.new(x, y, z) will, when added to another cframe, move that cframe by x, y, z
CFrame.lookVector this is a read-only property that described the direction of a cframe as a vector. A vector is a point with a magnitude of 1. Multiply this value by a distance to get a position that far in front of a cframe.

if your place is over 50% free models it's going to be laggy and laggy is bad so don't use free models

--Brick's In the Toolbox Section are Free models

Game Object's Such as Spawn's and Flags are Free Model's If you Get them From the Tool Box

Free Model's Are there to help you Learn to Build. I suggest you Start by using Free model's and Tinker inside of them to help you learn.

--- 1) Studio Has Access to C-Frame Gui's But Not Tools. They Have Access to All of the Tools and Scripts. Even If they didn't Have Gui they still have Command Bar.

2) "The Inventor" Should Die. Studio is the Best. IF you Are using Build To "Build" You Should Start Using Studio. I Use Studio ALL THE TIME. Yeah You have C-frame Tools! Congratz! We have an Easier C-frame GUI and Command bar.

3) Meh. Use it for testing.
