| Roblox is a big pile of middleware. If you're still complaining about that, you're stupid. |

1. Roblox has no .NET dependencies 2. Roblox Studio uses MFC 3. The launcher used to use ActiveX 4. Linux has no market for a game like Roblox 5. You need to learn your facts.
OH ROBLOX SHOULD MAKE THE GRAPHICS LIKE CALL OF DUTY TOO |

MFC is just the predecessor to .NET... Dependencies are bad all around.
Launcher still isn't good since it only works on some old obscure launching plugin supported by Chrome and Firefox...
If they didn't have dependencies, they could simply modify build settings and compile to Linux for nothing.
You're being ridiculous NVI. |

| For the love of god, you guys need to quit complaining about Microsoft stuff. It's not all junk, they make some wonderful technology. Just because it's different from your old stuff doesn't make it horrible. It's actually pretty amazing because it greatly increases productivity. |

"Microsoft rocks Jeremy"
Microsoft is not FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
And I don't like Microsoft's products, anyways.
PHP is far more popular than ASP and ASP.NET and it is a better language. |

| Modify build settings? Did I not state before that Roblox is a pile of middleware? That'd mean rebuilding all of the different dependencies, and some of them might not even build for UNIX anyway. |

| You can write C++ that runs perfectly on Macs and Windows computers. If you're writing very carefully that should be true; if you're writing well that should be easy-ish to port regardless. |

"For the love of god, you guys need to quit complaining about Microsoft stuff. It's not all junk, they make some wonderful technology. Just because it's different from your old stuff doesn't make it horrible.
Microsoft's products aren't free.
Wonderful technology? No, just no. They make technology that is identical to open source stuff, except the open source stuff is free and open source, and usually more performant.
"It's actually pretty amazing because it greatly increases productivity."
It greatly increases productivity? Please let me laugh at that. Ever used Vim? Looks like you didn't. I am more productive with Vim than with Microsoft Visual Studio, AND I USED BOTH. I don't need 1000 crappy features in an IDE that takes a lot of memory/CPU and that isn't portable, neither free, I need a performant, stable, flexible, portable, productive and efficient editor. Vim has all of these. It is completely portable, it is 100 times more performant than Microsoft Visual Studio (it's not an IDE, and that doesn't matter, IDEs aren't that useful compared to editors), it is flexible and productivity is it's better aspect. You can use it and be more productive than using Notepad++ or another similar programming/text editor, without even using the mouse (in fact, a mouse is pretty much useless with Vim, all you can do with it is select text). The shorcuts are just perfect, the commands are well thought-off and the editor is distraction-free. It has syntax highlighting, many commands, powerful macros, no useless distractions, auto-indenting, smart-indenting, useful settings and many other great features. Vim is just perfect for me and the use I want to make of it. I used tons of editors and IDEs and the best I've found yet is Vim. I used (not in order) Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, Notepad++, Vim, Kate, Sublime Text, NetBeans, Eclipse, Notepad, SciTE and many others that I don't feel like listing. Note that I used all these a signifiant time and made at least 6 projects with each of these, so I didn't just download them and look at them. |

You are more productive with Vim? Now, who cares about that?
What we care is what works best for a team. Only the ignorant will ever claim that Visual Studio is bad or isn't better than most other things out there.
If you don't want to admit, that Microsoft Visual Studio is arguably one of the best for C++ development, then don't.
Your argument is puny and pointless.

"Microsoft's products aren't free."
They make free versions of most of their products.
Seeing as how Sorcus pretty much summed up what I was going to say, I'll say nothing else. |
