I've seen it a few times, I know it's possible. Does anyone know how to accomplish this feat?
At the moment, im stuck with making it so that the user has to select a hopperbin to start playing, and once they do that, the script's Parent is moved out of the hopperbin, and the empty hopeprbin is removed, and I gain access to mouse and keyboard controls that way. once it has been selected once, its as if they dont have a tool selected and i still have access to their controls.
However, I'm looking to figure out how to access the controls without even having to select a hopperbin. Again, I know its possible, I've seen it at a few places. Does anyone know how? |

| Throw a tool into their character and move the script somewhere else, then remove that tool. |

| You shouldn't be wiki staff, I've looked at recent changes, never saw your name come up. Your grammar is bad too. |

Dude, just cause I dont show crazy good grammar here doesnt mean i wont on the wiki. The wiki is much more official, so on the wiki site I do use grammar. Don't be so judgemental, especially because that isn't at all what this thread is about. And yes, i only have like 1 or two contributions thus far, as i was just accepted the last wiki recruit, which wasnt that long ago. Also, I've been busy with other things so I havn't gotten around to it.
So yeah, SoulStealer, stop being judgemental and critical, and go elsewhere. That wasn't at all necessary and infact was quite rude. |

It's pretty simple accually.
1. Insert a localscript. 2. Make a tool. 3. function onSelect(mouse) lolhax = mouse tool:Remove() end <--- in the local script. 4. Put the tool in the character. 5. It will auto seletect and you will have the mouse.
Blobby leaked it to everyone. |

@xSIXx
Not that hard to figure out. As an alternative (which may be a safer way to do it, as if removing the tool fires the deselected event the mouse would disconnect and I could totally see Roblox updating and making removing the tool deselect it first) you could put any object called "RobloxBuildTool" into the tool and get the same effect. |

| xSIXx i tried doing that but it didnt work. i moved the localscript into the the player(not the character) and then removed empty tool. did this all on the Equipped function and it didn't work. i used the same script that i used for the hopperbin technique except of course i used the equipped event fot the tool instead of the selected event for the hopperbin |

You don't move the localscript anywhere. It runs even when its parent, the tool, is removed. |

| Another thing, the localscript doesnt have to be in the tool to get the same effect. You can easily connect the equipped event to get the mouse from a localscript in the PlayerGui. |

@shobobo your first post: When you remove something, all of its decendants are removed, right? so what your saying doesn't make too much sense, how can the script still run if It's Parent was removed?
Your second post: are you saying that i can still use the localscript for the tools purposes when its not inside the tool, as long as it properly connects to the tool?(ex if scripts in playerGui, script.Parent.Parent.Backpack.Tool.Equipped) |
