| What exactly is the point of running around shooting plastic BBs at people trying to be a commando? |

Because it's shooting your friends and it's more realistic than paintball. I'm not saying paintball isn't fun, it is, but I prefer airsoft. Which, by the way, actually hurts more because you get shot a lot more a lot faster. /Thread |

@Dona actually hurts more because you get shot a lot more a lot faster. >Implying you are paintballing with people who don't have double triggers or E-Grips >Paintballs are bigger. Therefore they hurt more.
Because it's shooting your friends >So you want to shoot your friends? |

| People play it because its like a real life version of FPS games, just you dont die when you get shot. you just go back to your base and start again. |

@noob >implying paintball with realistic looking paintball guns, normal capacity mags, select fire, and bullet shaped paintballs isn't more realistic. |

I'm positive my 450FPS Airsoft gun hurts a lot more than your probably 250-250FPS paintball gun, and shoots a lot faster than you can(1800RPM) |

>>Implying I haven't Implying the person who had the double-trigger or E-Grip had a lame trigger finger. Pros can fire like over 20 shots per second using a double trigger. |

You don't know my friends.
Paintballs, like you said, are heavier. and cannot reach the same muzzle velocity as an airsoft BB.
And if you do your math, 1,800RPM is 30 shots per second. And I don't even have a high quality battery. |

@Don Implying a 3 shot burst mode on a paintball gun + a double trigger + an electric hopper + a pro couldn't reach, or even pass 30 shots per second. |

"Implying that just because something is bigger means it's going to hurt more."
Actually, they hurt more because they have more mass, and more concentrated mass, and are traveling at a higher velocity.
Although, I'd rather play the one that is less painful. I mean, seriously, not to be crude, but are you emo or something? (**not really directed at anyone in particular**)
And yes, NERF FTW. |

"Paintballs, like you said, are heavier. and cannot reach the same muzzle velocity as an airsoft BB."
However, due to painballs having a far higher density than airsoft BBs, they don't slow down nearly as much, and so travel faster at higher distances. |

| my airsoft gun is a extremely modified g36c by umerix. I modified pretty much all of its internal mechanisms, and of course spiffed it up a bit. hearing it go with its high-end battery sounds at least 25-35 shots a second. |

"WATER GUNS ARE BETTER"
Water guns, in many cases, are actually quite fun (given that you're probably being sarcastic). Seriously, I got 4 pretty high-range (40 ft. +), nice water guns for about 25$ at target. Hours of entertainment. Well worth it. |

Sorry to say, but unless you're freaking heavy weapons guy, even just 40 shots per second is WAY overkill. You don't need that much. Seriously, at that point you're just wasting ammo. 25 shots per second is THE MAXIMUM you can usefully go. After that, you really gain no advantage from a higher RoF. |

| dude, im in a international tournent, i need it to be good. my gun was origianly a 25 shot per second gun that costed about $112, but now with modifications that cost only about $50, a have a nice gun that performs exactly the same as a expensive $500 gun. |

| But there's still no reason you would need to have more than 25 shots per second. Well, I dunno, there might be. But if there is, then you should actually post that reason. |

| Reason: some matches that take place are meant for close quarters combat. With a higher shot ratio you can easily get more shots out quicker at the enemy. Say there are 5 enemies in a small buncker. If you run in at a low shot ratio, you wont be able to hit all of them quickly. with a good shot ratio, you can pump one or two good sprays in and hit them all and move on. |

You do realize how fast 25 shots per second is, right?
Because, I wasn't going to mention it, but I really don't believe your "international tournament" crap. |
