Anybody hear of it? It's also called "Bill S.978". The bill states that the streaming of copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder is illegal and will get you either fined THOUSANDS of dollars or you send to jail for over a year. Imagine the conversation you'd have a jail...
*You end up in a prison, they throw you in a cell with a tough, brute-looking prisoner* YOU: How did you end up in jail? PRISONER: I killed over 50 people in a mall, why are YOU here? YOU: I filmed a Call of Duty sniping montage
... Yes, you could literally be in that situation, if this bill passes of course. But I ran across the definition of the bill on Wikipedia, and this is what it states:
"Bill S.978 or the Commercial Felony Streaming Act is a bill which is currently pending introduction to the Senate floor. It was proposed by Amy Klobuchar, Chris Coons, and John Cornyn on May 12. It would make unauthorized streaming of copyrighted material a felony. The penalty could include up to five years of prison-time. It defines illegal streaming as streaming ten or more times in a 180 day period. Furthermore, the value of the illegally streamed material would have to be greater than $2,500, or the licensing fees would have to be over $5,000. There is some concern as to whether the bill would affect those streaming video games, and posting videos on YouTube. However, the bill does not directly address this. Although it is unknown whether the law would be enforced as such, there has been an outcry with several negative reactions against the bill on YouTube, and other such video streaming sites, as well as other websites in general."
What I get through that article is the fact that even if the bill passes, uploading SOME things such as "Let's Plays" or montages or even boss battles would be allowed only if it goes on video-uploading websites, but stuff like movies and music could not be added unless you have full rights.
So this is the end of my word wall, I wrote it to protect me from the upcoming meteor shower (just kidding).

Wasn't that rejected a while ago? Plus, since it's a bill in the USA, wouldn't it only effect the USA? |

I'm pretty sure it would only effect America, sonicmarshmallow. But YouTube was made in America, meaning I have to find a Canadian video-sharing website in order to stream videos and such. And I don't wanna do that.
And I'm only trying to start a conversation, zoozooba444.

Thanks for the compliment, zoozooba444. That's actually what I've heard a lot also, but I only brought this up so we could possibly push away all the "I LOVE MY LITTLE PONY, SO IMA BRONY" and "I like ROBLOX and I wanna jump off a building" and finally all the "MINECR@FT MINECR@FT MINECR@FT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" But thanks again.

Hwen4, I don't think Amy Klobuchar, Chris Coons, and John Cornyn are from VIACOM, or are they?

XB0XNobleSix, if some Machinima videos do not have permission to be kept on YouTube, they WILL be deleted. And I don't think this effects Canada, but I think it'll effect every LP'er on YouTube. So watch out.
And HiGuiseItsChaos3, the article on Wikipedia states that the bill is "is currently pending introduction to the Senate floor". And this article was last modified on July 11th of this year. So I don't think the bill has been rejected.
