hey twinkle like a thousand gems in the sky, the stars do. Every sentinent race at some point in their history stared up into the heavens and wondered, "What is out there?" they built telescopes to see beyond seeing, and they built shuttles to get them to where they saw. They almost always started with their moons, but on Chiron 7, a moonless planet, they started on their neighbor. It took them several thousand generations to get it right, but when they finally did, they landed on the surface of their sister planet, and the moment they set foot upon the planet, they wished that they had stayed home. It was unbearable hot, [Chiron 7 was a frozen wasteland on the surface.] It was a desert world, with not too many plants on it's surface. Their bodies lost moisture the second they set foot on the planet. And yet, somehow things managed to survive outside the planet's surface. The biological scanners on the ships showed organic materials on the surface of the planet. They sent their best equipped scientists to check it out. They were not equipped with the weapons needed to cope with the monsters they found on the planet's burning surface. They did manage to send a transmission back, it was grainy, and out of focus, but one could easily tell that the creature were unlike any encountered before. They were reddish-brown like the sand and moved like ghosts across a darkened corner in your mind at night, when the shadows are the deepest and darkest of the time. Needless to say, the Planet of the Sandwraiths has been quarnitined until such notice furter from Chiron 7, who now stare at their sister planet with a sense of dread and fear, for it was their first step into space, and it met with Disaster. -- Plot is described above. -- Rules: Common sense please.
