I wanted this alot.
Make a new feature that bricks could be able to emit light. This, I think should be pretty simple to achieve.
We already have 'lights' in lighting. - Brightness
How about, every map starts with 0 brightness. When they place a light, every part within the light's radius would have a higher brightness. This is not scriptable, because it is editing with the game engine.
First of all, brightness is in the Lighting Object. Check it out, go to your map in Studio, and go to lighting and put the brightness higher. Your map turns really bright right?
How about (Mentioned before) that lights would be able to make some of the part's surface brighter? Like, not all the part would be brighter, but only part of the surface, depending on where the light is placed.
Also, we should be able to change it's color. And, again, we also have this, and it's also in lighting. :) It's called Ambient. If you change the Ambient, your map would turn a different color, according to the ambient, but not that much. It would add a certain amount of color to every part's colors.
So, using what we have already, we could have this, but in a smaller scale, since Lighting affects all of the map.
Pretty simple, if you ask me. One more thing,
You know when you face a brick and the sun is right above it? You should see that some part of the brick would become brighter, yea, I want that but with lights OR lightsources.

This would be horrible for the admins, as it would be time consuming and admins are already too busy making millions of hats a month..Buuuut. Support :3 |
