It's a game I'm making. You start out with Runes, which produce elements. Elements are thrown into potions. Potions are used to kill other Alchemists.
You can find Runes and also mix them with other Runes to make new Runes. You can also mix elements.
There are two types of elements. Effect elements and 'Z' elements. Effect elements are things like fire, water, earth, and air. 'Z' elements are elements which define how effect elements are manipulated. A shock wave element will produce a shock wave of an effect element.
There are then special elements. Like an element that produces a zombie. Special elements are also changed by effect elements. A Zombie mixed with fire would be a zombie resistant to fire that deals fire damage.
I hope you enjoy this concept, as I intend to make it into a game.

So, if you had a wind effect rune and a weather-controlling z rune, you could change which direction the wind blows?
That may seem useless, but you could, with the right application of the power, stop any physical attack, impede movement, and cause damage to the enviroment.
Best case scenario would be an enemy alchemist shooting fireballs in your direction, your fleet of warships (that use sails) trying to get to the alchemist but failing due to a wall of fire and steam guarding him, and a volcano has become active in your realm, around to the right of you if you face the opposing alchemist (guess who caused that? the opposing fire-themed alchemist).
In that scenario, just create a strong wind blowing in the direction of the fire alchemist. The fireballs are slowed and put out, falling into the waters below, your fleet moves faster, the wall of fire and steam is weakened, and hopefully redirect the lava flow away from you.
Or is it not going to be on a "enslave the forces of nature and make the world your playground" scale?
Got to have some sort of indication of the scale of the conflict. Right now, I am just assuming that the Alchemists are capable of controlling just about anything associated with an element, with the only boundaries being other Alchemists, and the capabilites of the runes themselves.
And how would these potions work? |
