I've had a Top 100 Poster badge since I got 16,000 posts, and over a course of 11 months, already I'm getting impatient trying to earn a Top 50. People say that the ranking system is broken and old users from 2006 might be screwing it up because they have Top 100 Poster badges with only 100 or less posts. |

It's the average amount of posts you have in the time period since you joined, for example:
A user who joined on January 8th, 2008 and had 6000 posts in 2 days would get Top 100.
A user who joined on January 8th, 2008 and had 6000 posts in one month would not, because the average amount of posts is not equal. |

For that time period, they had lots of posts compared to everyone else. MrDoom might be right though, it might be broken too. |
