| I'd rather stick to Windows for everything except Notebooks, mainly because there are too many indie games that have complications with the Mac and people usually don't bother to change it. Sure, you could use a Windows emulator, but those are a bit taxing on the system. |

1.You can install RocketDock on any computer, and it is fully customizable to suit your needs. 2. Photo Booth is the only exclusive you have listed there. All the others have been ported to windows already. Itunes and Safari are just bloatware, who buys music anymore (2004 called, they want their outdated buisness model back), and Chrome/Firefox/Opera is/are/was/will be better. 3:You can buy flat keyboards for any computer, if that`s your thing. Apple mice suck, because they are meant for claw grip users, while ingoring palm grip users. Also, this is irrelevant, because the best leyboards for any computer are mechanical keyboards.
Enjoy paying $900 for $400 worth of cheap, made in China, Foxconn crap, that runs a glorified UNIX varient that is easily surpassed by Ubuntu. Meanwhile, i will enjoy my $500 handbuilt rig, that would have cost me $1300+ dollars If I were to let Apple design it. Also, you can`t upgrade a Macs hardware, effectivley locking you into buying a new one every 2 years.
TL:DR OP enjoys bending over for Steve Jobs. I hope his man-juice feels nice on your face. |

What do you mean 'hardware'? Microsoft doesn't even make it's own computers! And, Mac's aren't that expensive anymore. I find using macs way easier than using windows. |

Yes they.are. Considering that they use Foxconn to make their computers, they should be priced at $500. When you charge someone $1200 for a computer with 4gb or RAM and an HD 5450, you have a problem. i can build a computer with those same specs for $400. Easy.
And by hardware, I mean computer parts. You can`t change the Graphics cards on a Mac, instal cooling, etc.
And of course you prefer Mac OSX, you didn`t know what hardware was, your technologically illiterate. |

| I agree with Zct5. When the average human being that has no idea about technology they see a mac and go "Ooh Shiney Look How Nice Everything Looks" That's just the show. Untill you know what's inside a Mac you wouldn't buy it you'd know its a total rip-off. |

| Make us buy Macs what a waste of time, you can download those useless applications for all computers, and stop being a show-off who cares if you can buy 10 macs why don't you buy an Alienware. Apple copied Microsoft Office too with Pages and all that. And before you say crap about Microsoft why don't you actually use their products for MORE THEN 5 MINUTES. And try Unix, Linux, Red-Hat, etc. |

Here is my response to the stupidity of the people commenting on this page :)
I'm a mac user - always have been, but I have Alienware laptops and my servers run linux, so I have experience in ALL of the operating systems :)
1 - "You can install RocketDock on any computer, and it is fully customizable to suit your needs."
Yeah, and it's really annoying, and because it isn't built into the original OS, it runs at half the speed of the MacDock and with half the functionality
2 - "Photo Booth is the only exclusive you have listed there. All the others have been ported to windows already. Itunes and Safari are just bloatware, who buys music anymore (2004 called, they want their outdated buisness model back), and Chrome/Firefox/Opera is/are/was/will be better."
Yes, they may have been, but the native applications are much more powerful, and the functionality of all of them is boosted on Macs. Have you checked demonoid's listings lately? They have 10mil music downloads a year total - itunes has nearly a billion. Funny, you can instal ALL of those browsers on a Mac! And, I personally prefer Camino! Also, safari was the first browser to pass the Acid3 test, IS9 still can't and neither can Opera!
3 - "Enjoy paying $900 for $400 worth of cheap, made in China, Foxconn crap, that runs a glorified UNIX varient that is easily surpassed by Ubuntu. Do you realize that computer component profit margins are huge? By making your own computer, the company making the parts actually makes MORE money than apple does by selling you their computer! I hand-built my servers, and I do agree that hand building is nice - but only when you need a very specific set of parameters met for different machines on a network!
For the last time - you can have the hardware upgraded on ALL macs at any apple store >< Also, Mac Pro's allow you to do it your self (I know, I have one)

Macs are expensive - you get what you pay for. If your poor, too bad - you won't have a mac, big whoop! Deal with it!
Foxconn's parent company and it's subsidiaries also produce many of the components that you use to make your "hand built" computers :) Sorry, it's the truth! Who cares what company assembles the computers?
Again, you can change the hardware! And, you don't really need to instal additional cooling on ANY personal computers unless you have a real heat problem because of bad components - servers are a whole different story, they REALLY need cooling systems (I recommend freon circulation systems).
Macs are actually better for network administration - in my opinion. They have a better system - UNIX variants are very stable and well balanced, which allows them to interface more cleanly in a network :)
The rest of the comments on this page were basically from people with NO idea what they were talking about - coolblox2334, eyeofdoom1, and 123andrew1234 are good examples of this!

I don't think you've tried out Linux.

$2500 for an Intel Core i7? I don't think so.

'UNIX variants' also includes Linux. |

>Itunes , a global music store. >Demonoid, a small priivate tracker community of a few thousand people
YOu have to learn that certain things don`t scale the way they do in your mind.

Have you ever used Newegg? If you arent a "slow" person, you can undercut the price of a computer by 50 or more dollars easy. Take a computer with the same specs as a Mac, turn it into a hackintosh, and you just saved yourself a thousand or so dollars. Or you could install Ubuntu. Also, taking you cimputer to the apple store to change from a 5750 to a 5770, is about as smart as going to your mechanic and paying him o fill up your tank.
Again, you can change the hardware! And, you don't really need to instal additional cooling on ANY personal computers unless you have a real heat problem because of bad components - servers are a whole different story, they REALLY need cooling systems (I recommend freon circulation systems). __________________________________________________
Computers generate heat. When using GPU intensive programs, or gaming, you can get some crazy heat in there, and if the computer has inneficiant cooling it can overheat. The bnew Macbook pros had this issue. They were a firebox. Freon, really? Jesus christ, just set up a water loop, add water, add a bit a PT Nuke, and your set. But that`s only if you intend to push a 5Ghz overclock or something.
Foxconn's parent company and it's subsidiaries also produce many of the components that you use to make your "hand built" computers :) Sorry, it's the truth! Who cares what company assembles the computers? _______________________________________________________-
Because the other manufacturers either don`t use Foxconn, or don`t charge a $1000 markup for a compuetr made with Foxconn parts.
Yes, they may have been, but the native applications are much more powerful, and the functionality of all of them is boosted on Macs. ___________________________________________ This is a good one. WHo the hell uses IE9? Good lord, just use Firefox or Chronium. And of course their functionality is boosted on the mac, they were made for Mac. Then again, everyone that is doing something worthwhile is using things like Sony Vegas or Photoshop, not garage band or Photo Booth. The only people who use that are the self absorbed children I see when I walk into starbucks.
Yeah, and it's really annoying, and because it isn't built into the original OS, it runs at half the speed of the MacDock and with half the functionality ____________________________________ Except it can be fully customized to fit the users needs, and re-skinned to match any theme. When used with RainMeter, you can really custoize how your desktop looks.
Macs are actually better for network administration - in my opinion. They have a better system - UNIX variants are very stable and well balanced, which allows them to interface more cleanly in a network :) _________________________________________ Build a computer with the same specs as your mac of choice. Install Ubuntu. Have UNIX and save hundreds. |

Rocketdock>Mac Dock. Or Mac Dock>ROcket dock, it`s your prefereance. Macs are made with foxconn parts. Foxconn. THe factory had like 30 workers jump last year, because of working them too hard. THe parts have crappy VRM`s, and if they werent going into Macs, no one would use them. The only reason they work is because Macs are so locked down.
Windows can only work as well as it`s user is technologically literate. If your stupid enough to get a virus, or get an error, then by all emans, use Babys First OS. Trust me, it`s for the best to start with a dumbed down UNIX, then move on to better OS`s. I`ve never gottne a BSOD, except when I was trying out overclocking. |

AND
Mac is like 2 grand!! |
