Day 1: Hot as crap, sweat dripping off my face. Me and my six platoon members are on a Naval Carrier. Its was Febuary 19th. We were being one of the first shipped out. Jack was by my side. We just deployed and the waves were rough. It was hard but we were trying to hold through it. When we breached land 3 men died. Me and Jack made it to a mortar hole and stayed there for the night More coming tommorow.

Day 2 : Still hot and sticky. Jack and I have been in the mortar hole for 10 hours now giving suppresing fire to our troops. I didn't sleep at all. The flares and bomb reminded me as fire works as a kid. The way me and Jack would spend all our time playing Baseball and watching fire works in the night. The smell of fresh hotdog stands. PFFT!! A mortar strike hit right next to our hole. We started charging with our Thompson SMG. It was a bloody beach. Dead bodies left and right. We made it to there front lines. DING, DING, As I shot two men. It was about 6:00pm there. We fought back. Then we headed back to our Command post where we met up with our commanding officer. Colonel Bricks.

Day 3
Jack

Kinda got some sleep, Tim didn't sleep at all. I had never felt as sticky than this in my entire life. The Japanese finally retreated-for once. They'll be back for more, the Colonel said. I felt hot and feverish when I got on the troop transport truck. I open my wallet-a photograph of my wife and 2 children. I think I might have shed a tear... I want to go home. Now. I remember Philadelphia, Shibe Park where the Phillies play, seeing all of the tall buildings. Just got orders from the Colonel. He says the next stop will be at least 13 miles west of the beach. At least we'll get SOME rest.

Day 3 Night
Tim

The Japs have set flares to scare our troops, but we fought back strong. I took a pain pill and a sleeping pill that night. I was asleep for a good 3 hours untill It happened. The japs came out of there holes and started charging. We were forced to fight back. Wave after wave. My ears were killing from th guy next to me on the browning. It looked like a light show with all the smoke coming out of the guns. After about the 13 wave of Japs they were all dead. We advanced. Then the Japs had more checkpoint of men. This time, they had a hill. I slipped out a picture of my Kid Jake. Right now he was finishing up school back in Philly. It was a rough night after the waves of Japs. But we held strong. We did quit. After all of this I got knocked out my the hilt of one of my soilders guns. I ordered him to do it so I could get some sleep.

Day 5
Jack

The mortars were being shot by the dozens. There is little cover, and the Japs basically have us surrounded. We can't do anything about it, the airplanes haven't arrived yet. Japanese infantry was scarce. They really depended on missiles and airplanes. All we can do from this standpoint is fight off the remaining infantry until Allied planes arrive. Private Jacobs lost his arm today. When I arrived back at the tents, Sergeant Fields was wearing an eyepatch. Reports are going around that more Japanese will be advancing to our location on foot. We have minimal ammunition for our Thompsons. Allied trucks are also supposed to come with new weapons and ammunition. We're sitting ducks out here. For now.

For some reason, I think we'll get these Japs back.

Hard.

Day 6
Tim

The war has went really sour for our part. Our alliance supply trucks came in but it was no good. They has spoiled food and drinks. We were almost of ammunition and we were holding off the lines. That night I got the first full night of sleep. It was really rough. Bullets flying everywhere, Mortars coming left and right. Airstrikes here and there. It was curcial. I was thinking of what the 21st Airborne Regiment were doing, was it as bad in Europe as it was here? I had a confirm kill of 34 dead japs that day. I was told that killing another one of Gods Children is bad. I was taught that you should treat others as you would want to be treated. I prayed to god everynight hoping I would get through this. Well lets up I do.

Day 6 (Evening)
Jack

I tried to pick some berries from a bush tonight. Turns out they were poisonous. The scarce streams of water taunt us, our thirst grows more and more. Tomorrow we are moving more west into the island. I have just 2 clips of ammo, Tim told me he has 3. Explosives are numbered. I've been wearing this uniform for the past week or so. If we gotta do our business, we gotta do it in the trees. Corporal Joseph had really bad diareah tonight. All of us are sick. I've been starting to sneeze. The Colonel has informed us we will start moving at about 2400 hours. Well, I'd better be going.
