This is based off another I read before. Hope you like it. It's a "semi- creepypasta".
On a cold, rainy evening, Cauldrone family was close to the fire, keeping warm. "Check" Mr. Cauldrone said, for he was playing chess with his son. A knock at the door followed. "He's here!" Mrs. Cauldrone yelled. A muscular man in an army uniform entered the room, with a rubicund face from the cold. "Welcome back", she said. He walked over to the chair near the fireplace and told of his stories in India, until he held out a small, blue stone. "What's that?" their son asked. "A bit of magic, perhaps.", the Colonel replied.
The whole room became silent.
"A spell was put on by an old fakir", he added, "and his point is that life is controlled by fate, and those who mess with it are to face consequences. Therefore, you get three wishes. But, it must only be a man."
Mr. Cauldrone asked for it, but he was warned. "But, if you do wish -- wish for something sensible." The Colonel said, and left the house.
At the dinner table, the family discussed about what they should wish for, with their son's sarcastic remarks added to the mix. "Maybe 200 pounds!" Mr. Cauldrone said, "How will that hurt us? I will just pay off the rent!". He held it in his right hand, and wished. "I wish for 200 pounds.", he said. |

The next day, the son went to work, leaving Mr. and Mrs. Cauldrone alone for the day. Mrs. Caulderone peeked out the window, and saw a man dressed in exquisite clothing, with a gloomy expression on his face.
Mrs. Cauldrone opened the door and said, "What is it?"
The man was strangely silent, and said, "Your son was badly hurt, but not in any pain." Mr. Cauldrone came in. "Oh, thank God!" he said.
They started to sob. The man said, "But, I am giving you a small some of money for the work he has done for us."
Mr. Cauldrone's dry lips whispered, "How much?"
The man said, "200 pounds."
With much shock, Mr. Cauldrone dropped, a senseless heap, to the floor. |
