The more detail, the more possible lag. I have a game with 25,000 Parts, about 600 or so that are not Anchored. It doesn't lag my 4 year old computer at all.
The thing with lag is that players can turn down their graphics settings in-game to reduce it. It helps to make Parts CanCollide off if they aren't going to be walked on or interacted with. Say you build a really detailed chair, just make the seat, back and arms CanCollide, everything else can be CanCollide off.
My suggestion is to build whatever you want however you want. Let everyone else worry about their own issues. |

1000 parts just for a tree is a lot
look into ways to reduce it, maybe using meshes like I mentioned in game or something else

If you have that many parts in a tree I'm guessing it's for leaves? Why not make a couple or three Unioned leaves and copy them but resize them slightly? |

1. I used a loads of meshes for the leaves so I cant union. 2. It is hard to resize them and try to keep the sphere shape without making it look odd |

| Why don't you just make it all one mesh then, or a few meshes. |
