Laptop: Guy confirmed he WOULD do it
Desktop: Guy said he'd think about it
if desktop guy says he'll do it
80% chance i'll take desktop since it's a rly good desk top
GTX 1060, A good amount of RAM, it's hard to say no to it, but then again I like to go to friends house and be able to play there

Depends completely what you do. I'm guessing if you're considering a desktop you wouldn't be moving the computer around? if so.. then go with the desktop.. obviously. If you want to transport the devices around, clearly go with the laptop unless you hardly transport the PC's around. Personally i'd go with the desktop, your choice though.

People use their laptops for work a lot, especially ones who travel a lot
Not to mention a lot of people bring laptops with them when they travel, what's that have to do with "having a life"?

Desktop 100% its a hassle to transport but if you're planning to stay a night or two playing all night in a lan party then its 100% worth it.
