| Allowing companies to prioritize the transmission and routing of data packets will not destroy the internet. In fact, the internet was not subject to net neutrality regulations by the United States federal government until 2014 in Verizon Communications Inc. v. FCC, which upheld the ##### classification of internet service providers as common carriers. Net neutrality had been naturally enforced by pure practicality and market demand until 2014, and there is no evidence the removal of title II restrictions will necessarily lead to the termination of net neutrality. |
