local p = Instance.new("Part", workspace)
p.CFrame = CFrame.new(0, 3, 0)

game:GetService("RunService").RenderStepped:Connect(function()
p.Velocity = Vector3.new(0, 3, 0)
end)

if I set its velocity to Vector3.new(0, 2, 0) it still moves downward
if I set it to Vector3.new(0, 3, 0) it moves up

what velocity would keep the part at its level constantly?

no-one is gonna give you a number. It would take 5 minutes to estimate this.

im asking for a solution to the issue that wouldnt involve having to use a set float

yeah since you're an idiot and I have to point this out a vector3 isn't a float

therefore me stating that 2 and 3 as the Y values for the velocity didnt solve the problem is irrelevant to the solution

you're incapable of helping me so once again the door is to ur right >[]

@neg

what do I do with that?

substituting it for the Y slingshots the part somewhere out of bounds

i didnt want to start a flamewar. I was simply trying to help at first because you obviously want a number.

why would I come here asking for help if I could just sit for a few minutes and find a number that "works"

cuz i dont want a number, I want a better fix than that.

I was bringing it to your attention because some people are like that.

"what velocity would keep the part at its level constantly?"

>thats asking for a number.

Bye

please come back when you have enough brain cells to comprehend that in this context a velocity isn't a number and is in fact a vector3

when I ask for a velocity i'm asking for the vector3 that I can use instead of Vector3.new(0, 3, 0)

autism at its finest

Don't result to insults. The velocity you want is (0, n, 0), so all you need is n.

gonna keep insulting you until you recognize that you're a moron and leave

already said i'm not bruteforcing my way to the correct answer as there is most definitely a less tedious and more accurate way of achieving my goal

deal with it and get out

Dude... just insert a body force into it and set the force to:

p.BodyForce.Force = Vector3.new(0, p:GetMass() * game.Workspace.Gravity, 0)

This will get the mass of the object and multiply it by the gravity, causing it to be weightless

He already told you how, your bogus technicality doesn't put you in the right

A Vector3 isn't a number, and asking for a velocity is NOT asking for an number

is there no way to do it without a bodyforce?...
