| the roblox program runs off of the roblox player, the game engine pretty much, so roblox is not a browser based game, so It would make sense if they ran the same on both |

roblox doesn't do true fullscreen, you're just changing the resolution when you switch between windowed and fullscreen.

depends actually, some different eras of graphical hardware prefer fullscreen over windowed, its easier for a GPU to run a single application's graphical requirements on the whole screen than have say, a game over a web browser with a bit of the desktop visible
mainly older graphics chipsets have this problem, newer hardware is fine with splitting tasks up, but if youre running something pre 2012-ish then theres a chance the older drivers may not like windowed applications
the lower resolution can help, but fullscreen may perform better really just try running roblox in both windowed, fullscreen and a small window and see which performs best for you |

@skunk, when an application runs in fullscreen mode, it runs in "exclusive mode". That means it has full and direct control over the screen output.
but when it runs in window fullscreen (in what roblox has for their "fullscreen option), it needs to send its output to the window manager (windows explorer) which then manages where on the screen that output is drawn. this takes some additional performance. the performance penalty, however, is greatly reduced in newer version of windows.
furthermore, since roblox runs windowed-fullscreen for users that enable that option, there is no noticeable performance gain (in theory) with fullscreen window and the default window option. |
