It looks like I need to use a module to develop my project, but I can't access a module in studio.
Is there any way for me to run a module in studio or maybe input the module into my game locally? |

| Just use the localserver testing button or publish it and try |

They work in studio, you're just using them wrong.

Not if its someone else's, go away
By using a private module in your game, you are letting the module's author run arbitrary Lua code in your game. You cannot read the module's code to see what he is doing, so you are placing complete trust in him. Private modules cannot be loaded from studio. This makes it difficult to test games which rely on private modules.

| Its private for a reason and its not hard to test your game in localservers |

I'm willing to pay you a small price for the parse code.
Do not underestimate my laziness. |

I just need the parse code only. You won't die and its not going to get redistributed.
Why do you need to hide it? |

why do you need the code
when testing just replace
words[1] or whatever with the value it would give and put it back when your done and if something goes wrong you can test localserver |

Because I want instant feedback, and the server takes too long to load.
This makes it 10x easier on me, because im not using the module if I have to load up a local server everytime I want to debug.
If you won't give me the code, then tell me at least which string manipulators you used so I can write my own. |

K, I found a method that will do the same thing using gmatch.
You are very stubborn, but helpful nonetheless.
Thank you. |

I was going to offer 1K, but that seemed a bit much.
Anyway, I've already recreated your code and I'm going to post it for others.
Its actually does the same exact thing too, it accepts a seperator and a string and returns a table. |

Look man, I just don't get why you are against opensource and making your code available to others.
But anyway to anyone reading this, since this stubborn kid doesn't like releasing his source code, here is a function that is literally exactly the same.
function parse(seperator,m)
local charactersAnalyzed = 0 local words = {} local construct
for character in string.gmatch(m,".") do
if character ~= seperator then if construct ~= nil then construct = construct..character elseif construct == nil then construct = character end
end
charactersAnalyzed = charactersAnalyzed + 1
if character == seperator or charactersAnalyzed == #m then table.insert(words, construct) construct = nil
end
end
return words
end
parse(" ","oof me baby") |

I want you to make it open source so that people like me who are having problems or want a quick fix, because frankly parsing isn't their main objective.
I spent a lot of time I could have been using on making something else.
Help a brother out, make it opensource. |

So that I'm not just handing you code make your own or use a simple alternative from the wiki and calling people a kid when you're probably twelve isn't going to help you in any way ;)
hope you had fun 'wasting time' |
