I'm well above legal age, and i understand that the demographics for this game are for kids (i have a 13+ on my account, even though i've passed that age almost double). but for us adults, it's just painful to get a entire sentence butchered just because we said a word that might be misinterpreted. so can we adults, have the option of disable this filter, pretty please?
Thanks. |

We're playing Pokemon mate. It's a game from our childhood so we just don't care :P And yes, they can fake age and fake proof, but not everyone does, and in other games and the like, if you fake your data like age and whatnot you can get penalties on said account, the same could be applied here.
Also, for who asked. I'm 25. Yes, I'm 25 and play Pokemon yet, don't care :P |

Nah, this is a kids game, it has to fulfill certain requirements to keep its "kid safe" status, and having a global chat filter is one of them. They cant go back to how it use to be where if you were over 13 you got basically unfiltered chat.
And theres no reason either, honestly, if you word things out properly the filter is pretty lenient anyway. A lot of the problems people have with the filter are due to grammatical or spelling errors.
And this is coming as a fellow adult, 20 now, on Roblox. There is no reason for there to be an "adults only" kind of community on the site. Roblox is a game for kids, dominantly. The small population of older teens and adults on here doesnt need special treatment. |

| it's not special treatment, it's having the filters disable for adults. look, it's simple. other games do it like this: if you're in the legal age (or over) you can disable the chat filter, so that you can read what everyone sends unfiltered, and if you happen to be saying something like curse words or whatever it still filters for anyone who has it not disabled or can't disable said filter. It's not special treatment, it's the option to enable or disable a feature on your end, not harming the others in the process. If you're playing Pokemon brick bronze like me and a good deal of others are, and you have to perform surgery on your chat cause certain creatures names, and the word ########## make your sentence filter entirely you'll be wishing for that option as hard as me. Plus, my name (Kryan) also triggers the chat filter, have absolutely no idea why. |

Roblox plain and simple cant have that in order to keep their COPPA certification. The chat filter has to affect all users at some level and block a certain list of words and information. There can't be a way for users to have no filter or a lessened filter. Doesnt matter how you go about it, Roblox cannot and will not have it. And certification of who and who isn't an adult is also an issue. Anyone can just claim they're an adult if they wanted to. And roblox sure isnt going to be checking ID's like in online law restricted transactions. Primarily because they would need to be registered and licensed to do so but also because that's a massive expense of time and staff resources. There will not be unfiltered chat on Roblox for any users for any reason. If you have such difficulty with the filter, type like you finished elementary school. The filter picks up on context and word formatting, its not just a list of words you can and can't say. If you write things out properly it has less issue and filters less of your text. |

That's what I once thought of, they could add a setting that if you were 18+ you could disable the filter on your client, meaning that swears that others send are visible on your client, but if you send a swear to someone that doesn't have the setting enabled it will be filtered. It would actually be pretty cool.
