I'm currently on the latest version of macOS, which is High Sierra. The ROBLOX player doesn't seem to have a lot of problems on High Sierra, everything runs pretty smooth. Unfortunately that isn't the case for ROBLOX Studio. I have found that since upgrading from Sierra to High Sierra that I have had several Studio bugs that are absolute showstoppers.
1. Frame drops. For some reason with ROBLOX Studio on High Sierra I'm having crazy frame drops, even if I'm not doing a whole lot. It can be when I pan the camera or if I select as little as two or three parts. Just a ton of random frame drops all over the place! Sometimes it works somewhat smoothly but most of the time something goes crazy and the frame drops come flying in.
2. Certain objects sometimes are stuck selected and I have to fiddle with it just to get it unselected. When this happens I also happen to experience frame rate hiccups.
I don't know what is causing these issues but I can't seem to find any kindred spirit out there about this topic! I don't know the percent of players on Mac or the latest version of the OS I do know that ROBLOX has often boasted about having a platform that will scale to any platform out there! It seems ROBLOX is spread so thin with all the platforms they have to support that despite ROBLOX being everywhere it isn't very good everywhere.
I can follow up with other details or whatever could help fix this problem, I just want to be able to get back to creating things again. |

| Some followup: This is still broken. I've talked to several ROBLOX engineers and I'm being redirected to things that have no relevance to my actual problem. This isn't some minor function on ROBLOX that isn't working, ROBLOX Studio is essentially broken for me on the Mac. If they at least said "We are well aware of the problem and are working on a solution" then I wouldn't be so upset. I'm basically talking into a black void where nothing comes back. The big reason for developing on ROBLOX is how easy it is to get started and just make things, but if your tools are broken I guess you can't really do that. So i'm done with ROBLOX, at least for the meanwhile. Before I wrote this original forum post I had already been having this problem for several weeks. This is ridiculous. |
