Online tutorials, Roblox wiki, videos, none of it has helped me. I'm looking for someone willing to personally teach me scripting free (I'm broke). My dream job is being a game developer and I'm in desperate need of help because I'm just an idiot. Please teach me, even some basics would be helpful. I get frustrated and confused easily.. if you're willing to help me (thank you so much) please reply to this post or message me and we can communicate in something like Discord if you'd like. I have a lot of ideas for Roblox and non Roblox games that honestly could be successful but won't be possible if I can't script. I also need to learn how to build on Roblox studio, but that can come later. It's be cool if I could get someone to teach me how to make thumbnails/ads like the popular cool looking ones, or if someone just could teach me how to draw better because I'm trash at that too. Thank you so much for your time. If I had anything to give, I would, but no so far I have nothing. I'm 15, unemployed, and have no source of income :/ I get like $10 every week or two, maybe longer.

| This was such a beautiful request, however, I'm (probably) not good enough to teach someone else and answer all their questions. |

| Just warning you right now getting a tutor is going to be a very slow and boring process, including the learning part. |

| just go use all resources together if your dream is to become a game developer then you're going to have to learn how to efficiently self-learn, mentors are great and I've learned a lot from mentors personally but if thats the ONLY option you can go for then you probably won't get very far. |

It'd at least help me out and hopefully help me a little to understand the concept.

Well a part of learning and understanding *is* asking questions. There are tons of places to ask questions, you don't need a specific person that is a "mentor" for you to go to, to have questions answered. There are tons of communities (like this forum and TONS of Discords) to get help.
The "get a mentor" is ultimately the easiest way to learn something, but that isn't really that realistic.
From my experience, it's much better to join Discords, and have conversations. There are always people there that know more than you, and there are always people there that like answering questions, it's like having a mentor but instead of it being a mentor its a bunch of people that you can pretty much call your friends.

What exactly are the problems you are having with online tutorials, the roblox wiki and videos? |

For example: I was trying to make a morph script, and I didn't know how. So I asked the forums here, and they told me how! script.Parent.Parent.Character = game.Workspace.Morph That's the very basic part of it, but that's the start. |

That's because you might be trying to simply memorize instead of understand. You have to practice what is taught in them, you need to write the code with them, and hopefully understand what is going on.
Sadly when most people go into roblox tutorials on youtube, they go in with the mindset of "I'm going to carefully follow all the steps the youtuber is doing". What tutorials teach is exactly what they are teaching, they sometimes leave you wondering about why they even took those steps in the first place. Why did they write that line of code? Why did they write it like that? This could be a problem of not starting off with the basics idk.
Learning is hard. It's going to continue being hard if you are someone who watches those tutorials with that mindset.
I understand how you feel, it would be great for me and everyone if we had mentors that could teach us everything about programming (for free). Learning a new programming language would definitely be so much faster if someone could teach me all of it. But at the same time I think that honing the skill of self-learning is even better. You can use that for all of life.
At the end of the day: go ahead and get a mentor there's nothing wrong with that, but don't ignore the other resources, use them while learning with a mentor. They are very very very very very useful. Game development and programming in general have to do with solving problems. Problem solving is all about using all the resources available to you to solve a problem. If you are willing to ignore those resources, it'll be harder in the long run. |
