i know how i'd like to set up this type of thing but i don't know how to get the vehicle to actually do stuff. Could somebody explain how i could make a self driving car in this way: You have a bunch of bricks in a circle or something. I want the car to move to each brick also steer to them as well.

so if I had a brick here and a brick on this part of the post i would like the car to move across this post. if there was a turn in it the car would steer here.

Srsly? you're going to HARDCODE it? *Sigh*
Use neural nets- train them elsewhere, either using your own library or use someone else's (like TensorFlow :C), and then spin up a simple neural network framework in Lua and apply the trained weights. Boom, you have a self-driving car.
Of course it won't be this easy because the car needs to accept the same parameters it would in Roblox, but you could also just do the whole training in Roblox itself, but that might be slower

well i mean I want it to drive in lanes. I've seen what I want to do done before. All i'm asking is for steps to make a basic car move to bricks. and steer to bricks that are not always in straight lines

alright i think you know what i'm talking about. I'm just trying to accomplish this with something basic before i do it with a far more advanced chassis. which i mean a vehicle seat on top of a brick with cylinders in it.

Just lerp the car to each brick?

| “Self driving car” not “self positioning car” I decided i’m Just going to make the wheels turn to the rotation of the point b brick and then calculate a speed to reach the goal of the car rotating to that as well as reaching point b |

Oh well then what you could do is:
Drive at a constant speed
Rotate wheels towards target while driving

Easy
Map out all the roads
Make the engine determine the fastest route by studs while considering being on the right side of the road according to the cars lookvector |

| What are some ways to map out the roads? My guess is use path finding service to find all the routes to get to point b and then choose the ######### But how would I map them? |

| You could use A* pathfinding, and set the nodes to the correct lane. Then just lerp your vehicle to each node, or use a body mover? |

wait !!!
you can do that A* pathfinding algorithm thing like, convert a region to like a grid and like make a path for driving or something then turn the wheels to each path coordinate or something |
