So I am looking forward to but a new laptop this Black Friday to develop a new game on Roblox and I do not really know which laptop I should buy.
A Macbook is great, beautiful and productive but it is quite expensive and I heard that it is hard to develop games on Roblox.
A Windows laptop is also great, you can have many applications and larger storage but it is not as fast as Macbook (I feel like that) and it just getting slower.
Can you guys give me some advises. Thank you!! |

I have a MacBook pro and The New Razer Blade computer. I feel on windows you have so many more options to do things (especially downloading stuff) and I obviously prefer the windows. Also considering I had my MacBook for like 4 years and my razer for 8 months.

I am thinking about buying HP, Dell or Lenovo. And the prices are lower or equal to $800.

I use a mac to build things and develop games but let me tell you this. The mac is delicate and anyhting can cause a virus or cause lag quickly. I had the mac im using for 5 years and after the 4th year I download some screen recorder my now my mac is laggy. Even though the windows is a bit slow, most people use it to do the stuff your trying to do. I personally would like to use a windows but mac is fine too when there isn't anyhting harming it.

Contrary to the above (?) post, I don't think hackers target Macs as much due to the minority of people using it. I'd say it would be easier to play using a PC, because that's where gamers go. If you're using it for school, it really doesn't matter what kind of computer you get.

Macbook's are terrible for gaming. Not to mention they're insanely overpriced.
The cheapest Macbook is $1300 new. For that same price, you can build an incredibly powerful desktop gaming PC, AND afford a cheap tablet for school purposes such as running Microsoft Word and/or taking notes for class.
And if you choose to build your own PC, you can save some extra money as well. Check out "PC Part Picker".
Also, desktop PC will last you longer than a Macbook, run games faster, and ultimately be more powerful for a fraction of the price. The downside is that you have to really do your research, find the proper compatible parts, and assemble them correctly (not too difficult if you do it with someone who's built a PC before).
I built my own PC this summer for about 1,100 bucks. All new parts, I got a GTX 1070 graphics card. The GTX 1070 for comparison compared to Macbook GPU (a GTX 960M) is more than x7 as powerful. I got a decent CPU, 16 gigs of RAM, and a 512 GB SSD. The 22" monitor was included in that price (for comparison, the Macbook only has a 12" monitor). I assembled everything myself for my first time (took about 15 hours to research everything, order parts, and learn how to build a PC correctly, and another 6 hours to build it).
And if you're not confident building your own or simply don't want to, you can still purchase a much more powerful desktop PC for the same price as a Macbook.
Apple's entire marketing scheme is based on their appearance. To many people, owning a clean, shiny, thin new Apple product is a resemblance of peak performance and quality to them. This is most often incorrect. You can get much more, for so much less.
SOURCE: I'm a college sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University. I had a job in Electronics repairing computers for a few months. Any Apple laptop we received for repair we turned away, simply because Apple products aren't built to be upgraded. Once it's dead it's dead. Meanwhile a PC, even though may not last as long, can be repaired, have parts sold/salvaged, and upgraded to the specific specs you want.
A PC is without a doubt the way to go.

;p
Oh and in terms of malware, Apple products exceed saftey-wise.
But with some common sense and a cheap anti-virus software, you'll be just fine with a PC.

If you're in college, then yes I would prefer a laptop. I've had my Macbook Pro for 2 years and its amazing, but they're are better windows out there. You'll find great deals on websites for macs. I got mine for $900 newest edition.
