I am going to pain an image in your mind. Imagine a large, tower reminiscent, can collide block in a field. From the top and into the center is a negative part. From the side and into the bottom of the negative part is another negative part (so they connect to form a hole that leads to an underground tunnel). This is what is appears, but the way either I or Roblox is handling unions' hitboxes is getting in the way. When one jumps down the rabbit hole they are either stopped at the top, due to what I assume is the negative part colliding with the player, or just stupid hitboxes, or you stop before entering the tunnel, caused by what I assume is the same problem.
NOTE: both negative parts are previously set to not collide, however that doesn't seem to matter since the part itself is the deciding factor whether the union is no-collide or collide as a whole. |

| Just to be clear I want to know the reason behind this and how it may be fixed. If it can't be fixed, I will move to a more "difficult" method of preserving the effect.******* |

This is an issue with Unions. If you take a large Part and Negate a small hole (small describing a percentage of the size of the Part) then the Union won't actually behave like it is shown. Go to your File tab in Studio, click Settings, then click Physics. From that menu click the box that says ShowDecompositionGeometry. When your next select the Union (I usually change it's colour so the results are shown, or click the Test tab and test the game) it will appear as a bunch of multicoloured triangles and boxes that show the actual shape of the Union. Uncheck the box to go back to normal rendering of the Unions.
The only way to fix this is to make the Negated hole bigger, or make the entire Union CanCollide off and put some transparent Parts that are CanCollide on for the player to interact with. |
