56th Congress of the United States At the 3rd Session Begun and Held on Saturday, the 12th day of September, two thousand and seventeen.
JOINT RESOLUTION To establish the Joint Select Committee on Foreign Relations
Sec. 1. Whereas, the United States Congress must focus on foreign policy reform,
Whereas, the Committee shall be composed of the following: A chairman, elected by both chambers in concurrence, A vice chairman, elected by both chambers in concurrence, A ranking member, elected by both chambers in concurrence, Three House majority members voted on by the House Committee on Foreign Relations, Two House minority members voted on by the House Committee on Foreign Relations, Three Senate majority members voted on by the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Intelligence, and Homeland Security, Two Senate minority members voted on by the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Intelligence, and Homeland Security.
Whereas, the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of State are to advise and give weekly updates regarding their progress to the Committee.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Joint Select Committee on Foreign Relations shall exist until the United States is to re-enter the United Nations.
Sec. 2. This joint resolution shall go into effect immediately after its passage.
