Yes I read the Wiki but can someone explain this to me? I just want to educate myself a lot in case I need to use these things later on, or just to expand my knowledge in Lua.

Read the wiki and explain it to your self. Its not that complicated, the first line literally explains it:
"Determining if two GUIs touch is the same as determining whether two rectangles intersect."
#code Do not give up; the beginning is always the hardest part. |

I don't want to know the summary of the code, I want to know each piece and understand it so I may use it in my work later. Wiki doesn't do that.

The wording though confuses me. Is there any place to go to understand this better?

Directly from the wiki: What set of rules can we come up with to check if the shape 1 and shape 2 overlap?
If the x-value of the top-left corner of the first shape is less than the x-value of the top-right corner of the second shape. If the x-value of the top-right corner of the first shape is greater than the x-value of the top-left corner of the second shape. If the y-value of the top-left corner of the first shape is less than the y-value of the bottom-left corner of the second shape. If the y-value of the bottom-left corner of the first shape is greater than the y-value of the top-left corner of the second shape.

It isn't the math, it is the wording and new functions to me.
