I currently have a virus in my game. I have checked all my scripts, and none of them are malicious. Here's what it does: 1. It creates a remoteevent into replicatedstorage 2. it keeps firing it, and causes errors because now my legitimate remoteevents/functions do not have enough bandwidth to fire I've created a hot fix, like this, since I put all my remoteevents in a folder called Network: while wait() do r = game.ReplicatedStorage:GetChildren() for i, v in pairs(r) do if v.ClassName == "RemoteEvent" then v:Destroy() end end end
however, this has its own problems. is there any way I can locate the script that is firing this? The annoying thing is that the remoteevent is created after the game starts.

Thanks for the help. However, the "Find" function is local, and will only work in a single script. I want to be able to search all scripts for a keyword. I remember being able to do this, but I forgot how. Thanks.

So sorry for wasting your time, but what expression would I add in the box? The remote event's name is randomly generated.

You could check all possible locations by printing any of game's descendants that are scripts, with the command bar. Script viruses often go into hidden locations such as Geometry. Script performance, or in a server, F9 console's Server Scripts tab can be used to check the names of any active scripts too. Also if you don't have any disabled scripts, then it can be easy to run a command to disable all scripts in various locations to see if the script exists in there or not (then re-enable them when finished).
On another note, a future hot fix or antivirus could be done better by using the DescentantAdded or ChildAdded event inside a location to return any newly created objects. |
