An is used when the next word in the sentence starts w/ a, e, i, o, u, and sometimes y.
therefore making LMaD'er go like, a LMaD'er not an LMaD'er.

if u pronouncing it as el mader then u use an
if u pronounce it like la mader or L M A D er then u use a
if use an when the first syllable begins with a vowel and u use a when it doesnt
which is why words like hour are an hour not a hour
