I have asked this question once before to people, out of curiosity, and they replied: "I haven't read a book in years."
...How do these people live?

| Does it have to be a paper book? I read books on my iPad if that counts. |

It's better that way: reading books on devices. It is ideal for saving storage.
Then again, paperback is slowly dying out which makes me feel guilty for relying on the alternative out of my own convenience.

| I prefer hardcover because I think it's cool. Lol. And I have a bookshelf that will look so redeeming when it's full. |

Guilty as charged.
"So yes, I read books."
Yay!

| Books are really fun, plus how can you not read books in years when you might have to do a book report for school or something? |

| I read at least one book a year. A few years ago I'd read at least two books a month, but ended up lacking any books that interested me, so I fell out of it halfway through freshman year. |

I am in dire need of a bookshelf. That's really cool that you have one to store all your books. I store books in places that other people store clothing. I think the drawers will explode if I place another book inside. |

Donate the books to your local fellow people with out homes. They enjoy books.

By that, I am referring to reading only the necessary excerpts of the novel to pass in place of reading the entire book.
I do know people that have written book reports and essays without flipping open the book though. I've done that once, but only during finals week.
"I read at least one book a year. A few years ago I'd read at least two books a month, but ended up lacking any books that interested me, so I fell out of it halfway through freshman year."
Throughout middle school I stopped reading. Not because I lost interest, but for the reason that I was mocked for reading and felt insecure about the hobby.
Books are books though, there's so many of them. |

I donated all my children books.
I should donate the ones still left in my drawer that no longer catch my interest, as well.

Yes, maybe they will catch the interest of others. Better than throwing away or at least postponing the throwing away.
