Seriously though, you'll want to set the Humanoid's WalkSpeed. |

I don't know much about coding gear, but I do know that the walk speed for a player is a property of the humanoid instance in their model.
To modify it, just use PlayerModel.Humanoid.WalkSpeed = Number
Of course "PlayerModel" being the player's model and "Number" being the speed you're setting it to |

Yeah, I wrote the real answer a few lines below. xD In a LocalScript inside the tool put this:
local player = game.Players.LocalPlayer local defWalkSpeed = 16
script.Parent.Equipped:Connect(function(mouse) player.Character:WaitForChild("Humanoid").WalkSpeed = 30--change to whatever end)
script.Parent.Unequipped:Connect(function() player.Character:WaitForChild("Humanoid").WalkSpeed = defWalkSpeed end)
