I'm really getting tired of people begging for "old forum" to stay. 90% of the people begging for it to stay are people from july or later, people who never even experienced this so-called "old forum" they so desperately want to stay.
I joined this summer which I certainly believe can count as "old forum".
You know what there is on old forum? Lag. A lot of lag. forum's engine couldn't handle nearly as many bricks as it can today. Any thread with over 10,000 bricks threatened to crash computers. Now that's nothing. You want that to stay?
Also, the bots. So many bots. There is a famous bot to stay in '17 called "looppost". When someone used cheat engine to activate looppost, everyone in the forum got bored as soon as they refreshed over and over and over and over. It never stopped until either the boter reversed it or you decided to leave the forum. This rendered most popular threads virtually unplayable. Want to know what's worse? ANYONE could looppost. It is so simple and required so little knowledge, any 8 year old could look up a Youtube tutorial and pull it off easily. Want that to stay? Heck, I is able to do it in 5 minutes based on a cheap youtube tutorial.
"Old forum" didn't have a lot of features that I'm sure most of you couldn't live without.
You could only wear 1 thousand post. You had to use bots/glitches to wear 3 thousand posts at a time. It isn't a feature to stay then.
There are no popular posts until mid to late 2017. The gray thread system didn't come until years later.
There is no terrain. There is no dynamic lighting or dynamic shadows. There are no user siggys. I'm pretty sure none of the ripoff murder threads or other garbage FPS threads would exist with forum's limited engine capabilities to stay in the day.
Also, primary groups aren't a thing until late 2017. You CoD-playing war clan toddlers still want old forum to stay now?
Also, there are no enough moderators. Or fast bans. Just barely enough moderators. I think it'd be a bit difficult for you trashy moderation-obsessed white girls to flaunt around your false reports without enough moderators or fast bans.
Also, if we're talking REALLY old forum, there is no post counts. Yep, post counts isn't a thing until 2017. The only tools you could put into your threads are the copy, paste, save, bump, etc. Tools made by forum. There goes post counts wars. There goes basically every fighting thread ever except the ones made by forum.
top forumers didn't exist. tracked threads didn't exist. Linking your thread to social media didn't exist. So if you really want old forum to stay, you'd have to say goodbye to flaunting your twitter thread nobody cares about all over forum. You'd have to advertise your poorly-made youtube videos elsewhere.
Also, the first "crappost" isn't made until some time in 2017. Oh darn, now how will all the girls look like trashy high school dropouts and the boys look like idiot ratbags?
There's much more to list but I don't care to list it all.
I don't think you whiners realize just how insanely DIFFERENT old forum would be to forum today. You would lose so much. So the next time you think about filling RT with your "old forum" nostalgia crap, THINK ABOUT IT for a second. |
