I saw on the wiki that it's possible to create new userdatas with newproxy, but they didn't give a very detailed example of how to do it, or even what the point of a blank userdata would be. Anyone mind letting me know what I could do with that?

Calling newproxy instantiates a blank userdata, with a metatable if you pass true as an argument. It can be used for sandboxing purposes, and more notably, situations where certain metamethods may only be called on userdata and userdata alone. In many situations you could just use an empty table as a proxy.

wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=Global_namespace/Basic_functions#newproxy
Look at the code portion about vector2's for this: wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=Metatable#Metamethods
Apply principles from the vector2 code to newproxy
