Just because its an update doesn't mean its a good one. No offense, but roblox is run by a bunch of people 20+ years old and really aren't in touch with the community.
The reason so many people say 2013 and before were so good is because back then there were less people and more time for actually engaging with the community, compared to now there is just way too many players and updates that "need" to be done, the most players get is posting on the fourms and praying that a moderator sees it. Thus, when roblox rolls out an update we dislike, they are only notified by the influx of emails they get from older players that are capable of composing a legible and concise email. These people are few and far between, and the bot that replies to these emails will usually mistake the email for something else. Even if it doesn't it seems like most of these emails are ignored/replied to with, "we understand your concern but suck it up". Obviously not in those words but yeah.
Sadly no matter how hard we resist they honestly don't care/don't have the time to care. I know the server update petition has over 5000 signatures but no mod seems to have seen the outcry. Granted this update was to save engineering resources and server space which makes sense, thus I'm not that upset, plus every issue that arises because of it is being looked into. But like this forum update is pretty horrid and unnecessary, and they are doing it so its more approachable for 6-8 year olds I guess. This forum update however, is pretty unnecessary in my opinion, and in most of our opinions I would say, but why would ROBLOX care about a group of people that have built a community here for years and the people that have been posting in these forums for years, just to have it yanked away because they want to make the forums more "kid friendly". How about the people that have ranked up over 20 THOUSAND posts in a catagory and have made friends/memories there and have made themselves relevant and known there, and then have to start all over in another forum because theirs was deleted. Just saying even though we are a slight minority, doesn't mean we don't matter. Take me for example, I forum in LMaD mostly and have ranked up 16k+ posts there, as well as scripters. I know neither are being deleted but I am not a fan of the merge that scripters is going to go though considering now we are going to be crowded with building requests and such that will take away from the main point of the forum. The organization is fine as it is and is nice. And if either were deleted I would probably quit, since 16 almost 17 year old me is only here to develop and trade at this point, I rarely play games but when I do its usually with people from my forum. TL;DR: Roblox underestimates the fact that majority of older players are in the forums and want to keep it mostly older players so the forums don't become a mess. You are also displacing hundreds if not thousands of people who frequent the forums you are deleting and it is probable they will quit. Also Roblox is very out of touch with the community.

And then all the other people in the Entertainment forums, OT, and RT, are all gonna rush to the other forums.
ALL 5 OF THEM.
It's gonna be chaos.

@nin
not to mention these are the forums that majority of people 12 and under hang out in, meaning that now these forums will be flooded with the off topic and strange stuff that was being poured into these forums, helping keep the forums that actually stayed on topic clean

Roadblocks knows exactly what they're doing They don't want the older users that don't spend as much money on scams (also known as microtransactions)

@10Miles
While that is true, when I have extra robux ill still spend it on a micro transaction here or there if I want it. Granted its not often but i still do. The more people they have the more likely it is, even if 1 of every 100 15+ person on roblox did a mirco transaction, thats still tens or hundreds of thousands of robux taken out of the economy, aka money they save cause of Dev Ex

Also the Server update acording to a roblox mod himself was to fix the phishing scam problem which it does very poorly and theres many other ways to better fix that issue |

@Guil it was for that and the fact that bots send pm's and friend requests to people in servers by scanning the server list. The sad fact is that this is easily fixed by setting the "People that can pm me" setting to followers. While it doesn't get rid of some of the bots, it gets rid of most. Plus if they really wanted they can scan the entire player base so its really not gonna fix the issue anyway.

Its just general simplification really, Roblox has been doing it for years. When they had to attract more and more users they were adding new things left right and center. Well, they got their new flood of users, Mobile users, mainly young kids who just play the games and not much else. Sites being made less complicated for them. Just because there is an audience of older users here doesn't mean we're the majority, we're the vast minority and to be honest, the things we want don't really matter to Roblox at all, and with good reason. You never cater to the minority in any game, you cater to whoever is giving you the most money. And even if all these new users are dominantly NBC who don't buy Robux, there's enough of them in there that will use mobile microtransactions. And those are the users roblox is focusing on, because though the percentage of users in the mobile user category that pay up is small, their numbers are still way above any other category of users on Roblox. ## we saw Tix get removed, avatars got simplified, the website was brought into web 2.0-dom, its because of all the new Mobile users, the game as a whole is being brought down to a level where just about any kid on a cheap android tablet can figure it out. Up until about 2014 the users on Roblox were a 50/50 mix of really oldschool players and newer ones, the audience was mainly middle school aged kids. Now the audience is younger, its lots of new users.
While i understand that removing certain subforums is not a necessity, it will make things easier for the new dominant userbase. The change really isnt that big anyway, we're not losing out on much. S&I is 90% people complaining, 5% spam and 5% actual valuable threads. And thats less of a personal opinion than you would think. Help is literally just people who didnt bother to read the front page of posts to see if their issue has been found anywhere else, and a little bit of complaining in there too.
Roblox in its base form has only gotten better, the little peripheral stuff doesnt really matter. You can still play games, you can still make games, and all the stuff thats been added to the actual gameplay over the last few years is fantastic and greatly outweighs little changes like avatar colors and stuff. |

Server update was to stop bots. It didn't work.
Prominent Roblox users complained on the dev forum about it and they basically said "sorry, we might add features to get smallest server and not play with friends in the future, we might add clan features to see servers, but sorry not sorry."
It's over. Roblox is a site for ten year olds. I'm going to do something else valuable with my life programming and community wise, such as steam.

| @lord Actually OT was just plain goofy. All the forums were pretty much 13+ with the occasional preteen coming in (who usually could actually have a legit conversation) and then the occasional younger kid who immediately gets shoved out the door and never returns with his idea. |

| @The Mobile users are all mostly younger kids, desktop users are mainly preteens to teens. This site has always been over run by people under 18, other than parents. |

| And I don't think it's or condensation for mobile users... that's what the Roblox app is for. Roblox has always had a younger audience, it's just got a bigger older audience now than it used to, which means when they enact updates we complain and they wonder why it all happens. |

I wouldn't necessarily say that I agree with every update that ROBLOX does, and that it's final.
I just want people to actually suggest something to help out with a bad update whenever a bad update happens. Complaining about the bad updates doesn't change or revert them. Going into detail about how to fix it (Even if you think they already know how to fix it) and actually suggesting something to help with the update does. |

Here's how to fix the bots:
1) create a tutorial on how to do it, on an accessible platform such as youtube, that shows you how to make it so only followers can pm you.
2) If you have sent over 10 pms in 10-15 min (or some set amount of time) stop being able to pm people for an hour or more.
Forum solution:
1) Make forums 13+ players only
2) Don't touch them because why do they need to "streamline the experience" when everyone was fine to begin with? I get that some forums to the newbie can be toxic, but thats usually when they come into, lets say LMaD and say "hallo guis wher du i trad" or something like that. I rarely see someone new in lmad who actually writes decently ask a question and not get replied to by at least 2 people with actual answers. And this is LMaD we are talking about, one of the most toxic forums here.
