I've already made a rant/explanation on why the recent update on server lists is a bad thing, and you can read that here.
https://forum.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=221250186
Anyways, it's obvious that this solution is not the best route. Let's look at some alternative solutions.
1: Reinforcing Player Awareness The biggest cause of scams is the fact that people are clueless. Yes, it's a harsh wording, but it's the reality. Just stop and think of whether scammers would actually have any real power if people knew that they were trying to scam them. Exactly, they would have absolutely none. Unfortunately, people fail to heed the warnings that are written on the message page. We need better warnings and reinforcement on the knowledge of scammers. People need to know that ROBLOX is the only thing you can trust other than your close friends, and even they shouldn't ask for you to go on weird links.
2: CAPTCHA on PMs This one would be pretty inconvenient, but it would be a good solution. For those who don't know, CAPTCHA is a system that uses verification methods that bots can't get through. This involves things like visual puzzles. The only place CAPTCHA is on the site right now is when you sign up. People can easily evade this, as they can just get through CAPTCHA, create the account, and send it out as a bot. If we had CAPTCHA on every PM you send, then it would make it virtually impossible for a bot to send automated messages to people.
## ####### #### This is one that I've seen a lot, and it just might help. The idea is that only users that have had their account for a certain amount of time can view servers. This would make it so that newly created bots cannot screen through servers and PM the players.
All of these would be helpful against scammers, and I think ROBLOX should try one of these alternatives instead of harming us with their new system. If you can think of more solutions, I encourage you to reply them to this thread. |

Here's a tl;dr
ROBLOX's solution to the scammers is harmful to the players. There are 3 alternatives given here. They can educate users about scams better, add CAPTCHA to PMs, or only allow accounts < x amount of time to see servers. |

| From what I'm seeing now, the bots have ALREADY found a way around this new system. I believe solution 1 is the only true solution. |

Thoughts on solution 1: Perfect.
Thoughts on solution 2: I partly agree with it. But how about the captcha only applies to new players?
Thoughts on solution 3: It'll help.
Anyways, I believe solution 1 and 2 are the ones that should be implemented in my opinion.
Hey look, I made a thread that provides solutions to the bots, which is better than the current one implemented: https://forum.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=221275732

| Actually there should be CAPTCHAs on every PM. The one click ones are super easy to use and won't be very bothersome. It takes into account a lot of different things to verify that the user is indeed a human including the way that the mouse moves towards the CAPTCHA checkbox. |

| ROBLOX is not going to add anymore captchas because the bots use captcha recognition services that allows them to bypass any captcha. |

The first one is already being done by ROBLOX.
The two other suggestions have been debunked by ROBLOX site managers as ineffective. They won't solve the problem. |

@GodShows
reCAPTCHA is pretty much uncrackable by bots. The following is from Stack Overflow
I would assume it looks at how you behaved prior to clicking, how your cursor moved on its way to the check (organic path/acceleration), which part of the checkbox was clicked (random places, or dead on center every time), browser fingerprint, Google cookies & contents, click location history tied to your fingerprint or account if it detects one etc. It's fairly difficult to fake "organic" behavior in such a way that it would fool a continuously learning pattern detection engine. In the cases where it's not sure, it still prompts you to match an actual CAPTCHA string. |
