21 pilots aren't necessarily special at all
21 savage and kodak might frequently make songs about money, cars, women etc but 21 pilots frequently make songs with the same angsty emo messages and attitude
it's no different
they both appeal to different audiences
i just think 21 pilots fail to impress a lot of people because they try so hard to present themselves as unique when there are plenty of reasons people could argue as to why they're not |

i personally judge music based on the actual meaning behind it and not what it sounds like. MOST of the time.

their music isn't that bad and if one of their songs comes on my playlists i probably won't skip it
but their fanbase is absolutely garbage
i used to be a really big fan of them and then i expanded my horizons to other (and significantly better) music
i won't discredit the guys though as they did work hard and achieved a certain demographic to make them more money so they can write more music
i've listened to every song and rab was my favorite album
but i don't really think they'll make music like that again as their themes change with every album and i'm thinking they're becoming more corporate with doesn't surprise me
but whatever makes them more $$$ ig |

not saying they're the worst band in the world but in my eyes they're not anything special or eye-opening like u claim them to be

i severely dislike how, when you attempt to defend something you like, they immediately try to turn the argument on you.
It's okay to dislike one thing, but to constantly call it trash and insult it is another.
and then continue to push someone who is defending it, and rub it in their face.
All you need to do, is simply state that you dislike it. Calling it trash does not make it a fact, no matter how many times you try to say that it is.
And by calling it trash, all you're doing is trying to egg on a war, which no kind of content creator ever wants from their music.
