This is an overdue feature.
Useful for young children who's parents don't want them to have friends on the site, or just people like me who are tired of being spammed with them.

I totally agree. This should've been added a long time ago, as I am so tired of getting friend requests from people I haven't met in a game or just those bots.

There is no reason that this wouldn't be a feature.
There is no downside. If you want requests, don't use the option.

Maybe ignoring all isn't hard, but there is no downside to adding this feature.
Takes less than 10 minutes to make and add.
Also, I don't think it should make you not allowed to send them.
No reason for it to. Some people only want to friend people that they send to.
