Principal Author: Clara OswaId Delegation : California
54th CONGRESS
Preamble: We the United States [Senate] Congress believe that it is necessary for future administrations and individuals undergoing certain circumstances to be exempt from the ineligibility clause when in time of urgency. The current constitution prevents no other way of being exempt from the clause and forces the individual to go through with their term and then serve in their designated position. Section I: (a) This amendment may be cited as the: Amendment to Artice I, Section 5, Clause 4 of the Constitution
Section 2: (a) Artice I, Section 5, Clause 4 of the Constitution: - “No Senator or Representative shall, during the time for which he was elected, be appointed to any other public government position, under the authority of the United States."
SHALL BE AMENDED TO
- "No Senator or Representative shall, during the time for which they were elected, be appointed to any other civil office, under the authority of the United States. But their House may, by a vote of two-thirds, remove such disability if they have resigned their membership therein, and the office was not created, nor any additional powers added, during their continuance in Congress."

Aye, this amendment is something we very much need as at the current moment of the time and in the future as there is absolutely no way to be exempt from the clause but wait your term (depending on how long that can be) and it often sets barriers for future administrations to function as their preferred nominee is serving a position in Congress and is struck by the clause preventing them from executing their duties. The requirements are reasonable and are just, any issues that must be addressed in regards to this amendment can be sent to me via DM for further clarification. |

Aye, I further advocate for Congress to work on providing a more democratic way to replace resigned Senators.

| Aye. After discussing this with many people with different points of view, I feel that this is a good amendment to the U.S Constitution that provides a reasonable & democratic way for people to be exempt from the ineligibility clause. |
