| They work amazingly well. Usually, weapons work in ################ ## ################ ################## -Instant fire, delayed impact (Fires with a localscript) -Delayed fire, instant impact (No localscript) Either way, you can't consistently hit a moving target. The first type of weapon requires even raycasting weapons to be fired where the target will be instead of where they are. The second type of weapon requires you to instead aim where the target will be, because by the time the weapon fires the target will have moved. Base Wars weapons have instant fire and instant impact. But how? |

| I know they use raycasting, but it takes more than that. |

| Can deliberately boosting your post count by spamming useless messages be bannable already? |

That's like asking how a plane flies and saying "with wings". It's blatantly obvious, and clearly not what the question sought to find out.
Anyway, what I want is not the contents of the scripts, but the types of the scripts.
I'm beginning to suspect that the weapons might be purely localscripts, because I can seem to create an instantaneous serverside effect with a weapon that uses only localscripts; which is exactly what Base Wars weapons do. I'll need to test it some more though. |

| Jesus, if all you wanted was a full paragraph on how the whole script works, you could’ve just asked nicely. |

I don't need to understand the whole script, just the most basic structure of it. Like, which types of script are used and where. |

local script and server script
local script for mouse input server script for raycasting and damage
or
local script for mouse input and raycasting and server script for damage
depends on your guns and how much you trust the client
usually, you don't want to trust the client
