Can't be done. Idc what anyone says, it can't be done outside of Studio. And even in Studio it lags like crap.

Short answer is that there is no practical way to do so besides begging the Roblox devs. to give us one.
I've implemented a raycast mirror one time when I was bored. Trust me you don't want it. xD |

| idk but heres a way i think might be helpful you could just put a part as a mirror and put a touch part front of the mirror part and when that touch part is ####### you can clone the character that touched the touch part and then position that clone behind the mirror part so you are just using Position And Clone() to make a simple mirror and when the player is moving you want the clone to move right? you can enter the clone's humanoid and change the MoveDirection or WalkToPoint or WalkToPart or any technique to make him move. --LeafDoode |

Pretty much impossible to do. I was thinking about it for a while when I thought of adding mirrors to my trucks.
U can try to for example reflect rays from the camera facing the mirror and then find all the objects that have been hit by the ray, copy those objects, make a small scale version of them and place them in front of the mirror and adjust the rotation based on real rotation of the object and the angle u look at the mirror from.
Could work, but if u look at a huge angle from the mirror (Almost 90 degrees) then u'll see those small pieces that are supposed to be the reflected versions of those pieces on the mirror so that's a huge downside. Another downside is u can't reflect the sky box, the max u can do is add a decal on the mirror with the Id of the sky box, that's about it, that is why I said it's impossible for US to do it. I guess we would need to ask Roblox for reflecting object support.
I think I had a few other ideas in mind, but I can't remember them, if I do I'll post them here, who knows, maybe u'll find them useful or intriguing.

Well you can do something like this: https://www.roblox.com/games/169091824/Mirror-testing
Or if you are ready for some crazy lag you can project onto a surface plane and render with GUI. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7iyQy8apu0 |

"I like the advices from people that joined Before 2014"
What's that suppose to mean? I joined just months ago, but yet my answer is relevant.
For all practical purposes it's impossible. Part's have reflectance, and some materials can reflect the world, but they really only seem to reflect the skybox. xD
They only way we can have a real mirror is if the Roblox devs. implement it for us. Otherwise the best you can do is mirror(literally copy) every thing on one side of a part to the other. Every other solution is way too laggy. |

I never said anything like that. But your comment implied that all the comments from people that joined after 2014 were of poor quality... Since I am a commenter that joined recently I did take it a bit personal, but that is all. |

It's been so long since I wrote that so tbh I can't rmbr exactly.
I probably did what I did at the end of this article to project and convert to 2D: http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=User:EgoMoose/Articles/Silhouettes_and_shadows#Converting_3D_into_2D_SurfaceGui
Then I used 2D triangles to draw the polygons made up of those points: http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=2D_triangles |

The Mirror testing place by EgoMoose isn't copy locked.
It copies the world and places the copy below a transparent part as camera local.
Every frame it deletes the old reflected state and "redraws".
