Inflation in economics: a general increase in prices and fall in the purchasing value of money. Generally considered 'inflation' on Roblox: Too much money (robux) in the system in people's accounts, which will therefore increase the prices of items.
When I see complaints that NBC get nothing, they're right. Their login bonus has been removed. There are only a few ways to earn robux now, which are heavily taxed at 90%.
Now what's often campaigned for is a daily login bonus for NBC, or daily challenges to earn robux, or free robux. You get the picture.
However, people put this idea down, AND RIGHTLY SO. Non-paying users don't get the same benefits as paying members for a good reason.
Just one thing.
People claim the main reason that NBC should not receive even one robux a day is due to 'inflation' and this just isn't true. Take a step back and observe the bigger picture. WHERE WOULD THERE BE INFLATION? Limiteds, yes. But I'll come back to that. The prices of shirts and pants are chosen by users. It is impossible to argue that if NBC suddenly had more money to buy things that clothing makers would increase prices just to earn more money. They would earn more anyway through the increase of sales. Making cheap clothing items then more expensive will simply deter users from buying and encourage them to look elsewhere for cheaper clothing, especially if they could only survive on one robux a day. For items produced by Roblox, i.e. hats, gears, faces there is even less of an effect. The prices can't even change unless Roblox decides to. And they're unlikely to put them up, and up, and up.
No inflation here.
So what about Limited items. Hats, gears and faces sold by users. The argument is that if NBC members receive robux, the prices will jump up. Seems pretty likely right? I disagree. If, hypothetically, NBC members had money to spend, would there be a sudden purchase of limited items?
The honest truth is that it would hardly make a dent in the prices. With so little money coming in each day, I think it is unlikely that people would cash it all out on limited items. Some people might do so, but with so many rares out there, could this really happen? Many users would be a bit more careful with their money, or spend it all and eventually this money goes out in the form of tax.
And so we come to my final point - "But Ulrond, what about all the extra money in circulation??" What about it? If NBCs are spending it, where does this inflation come in? If they hoard it and don't spend it, it makes very little difference to the Roblox economy. When they spend money on shirts, pants, and all limited items, 30% of the money still goes out in tax. And 100% goes out when buying items not made by users. The idea that large amounts of currency in the economy on Roblox will create instability is a lie.
To finish and create a TL;DR, inflation of the currency robux is not the threat that people tell you it would be. Inflation was a risk when tickets were around. Now it is just one currency. |

Yeah There'll not be any inflation created. Not even if NBC'ers got daily robux. It can even cause limiteds to become rarer, if a lot of NBC'ers a specific limited.

Agreed, wholeheartedly.
When my only income is my OBC daily stipend, and I still feel like I'm broke, you know something is wrong.
Achievements, Daily Challenges, etc., you name it, it needs to get in.

| Actually now that there's only one currency and less ways to earn currency for NBC and the generally poorer users, there's a lot more incentive to buy ROBUX. This will put more into circ, putting more strain on ROBUX and devaluing them. |

@Invic
I've outlined in this thread why an increase of robux in circulation would not make a turn for the worse in the Roblox economy. |

| And skimming through if NBC'ers got 1 robux per day it actually would cause inflation due to currency botters, like what happened with tickets. Why do you think they became almost worthless over time? In 2010 the ratio was 10:1, and in the end it had almost doubled. |

It actually would, because as prices rise, base-level users still make the same amount (common users, not talking about experienced devs, traders, group owners etc.) which completely screws them over.
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. |

IT doesn't work anyway because virtual economy is a myth - taxes are fake and money can be generated.
