(man I'm so smart locking that post the first time, didn't actually happen though.)
If this is your first time entering the Horizon Adventurers' Hall, it will most likely have been your most memorable night during your visit to the city.
Perhaps you aspired to walk the halls yourself, or you were simply a curious tourist who wanted to see yet another of the great wonders of the city. Either way, opening the large, wooden doors would reveal a breathtaking sight: a wide, open lobby room almost entirely bedecked in heartbark wood and red fabric in the form of banners, posters, and a long red carpet running all the way to the large desk at other end of the hall. Once the initial sight had gotten enough of your attention, you would see all sorts of tables and chairs where people of all kinds would be relaxing or perhaps discussing various matters. The most interesting thing of all, however, was the fireplace placed on the very left of the hall.
There was always an old, two foot tall Keen gnome by the name of Silas sitting by the fireside during the evening hours of the day, and with that gnome there were always at least a few people of all ages and from all walks of life that would be gathered around him, listening to the stories he had. Often, they were just stories about his life and the lives of those closest to him, and other times he would recount one of the many adventures and campaigns some of the guild members went on.
Today was a particularly special day, for it marked the 42nd anniversary of the Horizon. Once a year, a large crowd of guildmembers and townsfolk will gather around the fireside for the highlight of the day: Silas's grand retelling of some of the greatest adventures the guild embarked on that year, going from dusk to dawn. This year, he'll focus on four campaigns in particular, either as a cautionary tale or an illustration of the many exploits the adventurers went through. As always, the Keen's words will be sure to entrance the audience and reinforce the already high amount of admiration and respect the city had for the Horizon.
Take a seat by the fireside, anywhere you like. You've arrived just in time for the night to truly begin!

What's going on, my fellow readers, writers, and boyhunters? I've decided to create another roleplay, this time a (mostly) one-on-one featuring several campaigns to choose from, a variety of choices for the creation of your character, and a pretty interesting experience for everyone involved!
If the roleplay seems compelling enough for you, go ahead and keep on reading, and perhaps I'll see you as part of the audience or perhaps even as one of the characters taking part in one of the four adventures! |

[RACES] Before the adventure can start, you'll need to select one of these five races to roleplay as. Each race has their own unique traits, appearances, and abilities that may be useful during the campaign. Keep in mind that the race you pick may impact what occurs during the adventure and how other people treat you.
DWARF - Stoic fellows who stand at up to four feet, dwarves are an industrious race known for their stone. Being a Dwarf allows allows you to start with a large amount of gold, which may be useful either now or during your journey. A magnificent beard is also a great positive if you want to have one.
GNOME - At two to three feet, gnomes are the shortest people around, and they possess a wonderful affinity for treasures and technology. As a Gnome, you start off already equipped with a couple treasures and gadgets, making your character well-equipped for the journey ahead. A
ELF - Slim and tall at around six feet, elves are an ancient race that have existed since the Hatching. They're well regarded for their vast knowledge of magic. Being an Elf starts you off with the knowledge of a couple spells and a fancy elven last name. Are you a Sunsword, a Tarcial'Embeart, or something more?
KOBOLD - Short beings at roughly four feet, kobolds are covered in brown or gray rock fur and have a preference for eating rocks. As a Kobold, you're fairly versatile and can use your claws to inflict twice as much damage as a typical weapon can cause. This damage even applies to any weapons you have.
PORC - Large, bulky humanoid pigs at 5-7 feet, porcs are recognizable by their pink skin, tusks, and pig snout. While they typically only recognize strength, changing times have caused them to consider other traits as well. Being a Porc allows you to potentially start with abilities that only beasts and magical creatures would have access to.
[CLASSES] It's generally quite difficult to take part in any adventure unless you've learned some of the many abilities and spells available in the Realms, and the best way of doing so is to receive training in a class. Select one of the ten available classes and your character will know a few of its abilities, each of which will prove invaluable during the campaign.
SORCERER - A hybrid melee caster that combines magic with their physical strikes. RANGER - An archer matched by no other with a wide range of skills and supporting spells. THEURGIST - A robust mage who summons many elemental minions to overwhelm the battlefield. LUMBERJACK - An axe wielding brawler who has trained a wild beast for battle. (Selecting this class gives you a beast companion.) SPELLSLINGER - A gunslinger who channels their magic power through enchanted pistols. CABALIST - A deathly mage that uses twisted dark magic to harm and disable others in the midst of battle. (Selecting this class will make your character a non-living Ageless being.) SWASHBUCKLER - A seadog who uses anything for a weapon and is always looking for a good fight. SUNCLERIC - A cleric who worships the sun above all else and can channel its raw power into their allies. BERSERKER - An insanely powerful dual wielding brawler that can transform in battle. BARD - A jack of all trades with a love of music and playful magical spells. (Selecting this class will give you a bunch of random, potentially useful items.)
[ADVENTURES] This particular roleplay features three one-on-one campaigns and one two-person campaign, meaning there is a maximum of five people that can take part in the whole thing. Each adventure features a little music, a unique cast, and a good amount of action depending on the one you choose. If two players want to try the same adventure, I'll simply pick the one with the better character sheet. Feel free to request any additional information about the adventure if you need any!
UPROOTED - Originally a prosperous town known for its mines and weaponry, the entire population of Blackroot seems to have mysteriously disappeared. You and another player have been tasked with discovering why Blackroot is now a ghost town. The job will pay handsomely, but be aware that the people who took this job disappeared without a trace two weeks ago.
THE BEENU HALL - Thanks to the map of Karl Landers, one of the incredibly rare halls of the extinct Beenu race have been discovered by the Guild of Explorers. They're willing to let one of the Horizon rookies tag along and see what it's like to explore such a place. There's no guarantee the campaign will be eventful, but there's also no guarantee of safety either.
HEARTOAK MEADOW - Not too far away from the Horizon, you'll find a dense forest named for the heartoak trees that cover the area. It's a haven for nature and those that appreciate it, but lately some people have claimed to see the trees dying, as well as an increased aggression from the wildlife. Meet up with one of the local shamans and see if you can put a stop to whatever may be responsible for the corruption of the forest.
NARITRI SLUMS - The coastal town of Naritri is regarded highly for its busting trade and travel. However, the apparent resurgence of an Ageless cult has threatened to overcome the citizens with fear and make doing business here less than ideal. You have been tasked with figuring out the motives of the cult and eliminating their leadership before things start getting out of control. Subtlety is required during this mission, so you will be doing this alone.
[YOUR CHARACTER] The characters who took part in each of these four campaigns were all relatively new to the Horizon at the time, but as the guild is Gnomish in origin there was plenty of paperwork involved in signing up. If you don't mind recalling who one of those characters were, go ahead and put the information down below. Details will most certainly be required!
Name: Race: Gender: Class:
Appearance:
Backstory:
Adventure: Other:
If you're having trouble figuring out what you want your character's personality to be, or you want to spice up your backstory, feel free to ask me for some random character traits to use! You will always receive two when doing so. One is a backstory-defining trait which is always beneficial, and the other is an attribute which can go either way, potentially having a dramatic effect on your character.

Name: Dokdreg Forge Race: Dok is a dwarf. Gender: Dok is a male. Class: Dok is a lumberjack.
Appearance: Dok has a fabulous and pretty long black beard. His eyes are black. He has chainmail armor, a few add-ons on it.
Backstory: Dok's paid pretty well, making weapons for everyone. He soon learns about an item he desires, but it costs a lot of gold. He can't buy it. He could make a lot of weapons and sell them, but it'd take too long to get enough gold. So he gets hired to figure out why Blackroot is now a ghost town, and was informed the dangers of it; people who just recently got hired disappeared. The only thought he had on his mind at the time was all the money he would get when he finished.

I plan to take care of it and get things started real soon, Justin, but for now I gotta sleep and I'll prepare what I'm going to say in the morning.
For the two for you so far, I just need to establish what your characters will be able to do in the roleplay and tell you what you can do with any money or items you have started with.
I've already taken care of Raider for the most part, he has most of his character established and just needs to create a character sheet so we can see everything he's got. He decided to take the random character traits I offered, and what he received was quite character defining. It's sure to make the adventure much more interesting. What he received was Caretaker and Emo. So, that's going to be fun. |

Name: Eivhart Lakeley Race: Kobold Gender: Male Class: Berserker
Appearance: He has a grey coat and looks like your typical kobold. With the exception that there are dark patches under his eyes, giving the impression that he is either sleepy or edgy.
Backstory: Your average kobold lived in a town and secretly raised spiders. Until that time where everyone discovered the spiders and killed most of them. With only one living spider with him, and a bunch of others dead or gone, he hates everyone. Now he roams around to kill people and put them out of their misery, or because they suck.
Additionally, he has some worthless friend of an Elven Suncleric named Nonna who helped him take care of the spiders because she 'thought they were cool'. She's still helping Eivhart now, and he doesn't think she's useless in return. |

it's fine, we all have a life.
or do we?...
jk.
here's my updated bio: Dok's paid pretty well, making weapons for everyone.
He bought a few stuff before continuing his adventure, including a shezaite he named Bullelf, a weapon and a few resources and supplies.

Alright, here's what you get: Musician: You have devoted much of your life to creative expression. Two random Arcane spells are added to your inventory. (These spells are Charm and Arcane Beam.) Honest: You are an honest fellow who believes all lies lead to ruin. You cannot lie in the roleplay, both in character and out of character. If you are caught lying by the Game Master, you must Death Roll. (which is basically a 5% chance of causing your character to drop dead right there)
I forgot to mention the part where the creation of your character is slightly more complicated once you get into it. Before you think about your backstory, I'd like to know what you are planning on being for your Race, Class, and Adventure. You can't choose Uprooted since it's already been taken. |

(Might as well give this a shot. Its been a long time since I haven't roleplayed yet. Judging by the CSes above, I'm suggesting that you may have the option to have your own companion, or is it just you? Anyways, your choice.)
Name: Lilia Ratort Race: Elf Gender: Female Class: Theurgist
Appearance: Pretty much what her race has explained, though it is unknown what a teenage elf's height is. She is a beautiful young woman with fair skin, sparkling emerald eyes, bright orange hair with braids on either side, and some freckles. She mainly wears a white robe with a rope tied around her waist and also carries a backpack for her items. Also, she wears a pair of glasses.
Backstory: Born from a prestigious family of elves that specializes in the arcane arts, Lilia was the youngest of the 18 children, and to the extent, the least skilled. She wanted to be the best theurgist the world ever has, but most of the time, her summoned minions would go hostile on her and cannot tell friend from foe. Some of her siblings looked dwn on her, but most others cheers her up, even her family.
By the age of 16, Lilia joins the Horizon in order to improve her summoning skills and at the same time make various friends. Unfortunately for her, no one likes her due to her lack of skill, some opt to bully her for that. She would then take on a mission, unbeknownst of the high risk she will be taking. Can her lack of summoning skills save her from the perils of the once great hall? That's for you to decide.

You have to buy a companion. Theurgists have the option of having their own elemental companion as well, if they wish to make that investment.
Now, we need to figure out some things first before the adventure starts. You're probably wondering, "What kind of equipment am I going to have?" and "What the heck does a Theurgist even summon?"
It's a shame you didn't go for random character traits, but that's not a problem.
The first question I need to ask you is regarding the spells Elves start with (they get four). There are six elements in this world: Light, Dark, Fire, Ice, Arcane, and Earth. I need you to pick one or two elements for your spells to come from. I'll most likely do the rest in a message. |

I could do some stuff, so let me go onto the specifics. As for the elements, I guess she'll get both Arcane and Light. I'll let you decide on the traits, based on her backstory of course.
For her equipment, most likely mage stuff, and her summons, like you've said, are elementals. Elemental minions are the primary summons, right? As for companions, well, how do you get that in an economical sense? |

Theurgists are casters that harness Earth and Ice spells to summon earthlords and air sprites, and support the team in other ways.
The character traits must be completely random for them to actually have an effect outside of roleplay, otherwise I'll still add them to your character but without anything special happening from them. This is how Raider was able to get two companions (he got Emo and Caretaker) and SwedishLemon was able to start with a couple more spells (he got Musician and Honest).
I still have to establish what your equipment is and what you can do, and in order to do that you have to buy what you want to have. This process will be fully explained in a message. |
