Preeing a laptop atm
-Intel Core i5 7200u dual core processor -2.5 Ghz -Intel hd graphics 520 card -Shared graphics card (dunno what this is) -8GB Ram -1TB hard drive
Is this good enough to play roblox (Probably cus i do just fine on most games on my 1.6 Ghz 4gb ram laptop but the real question is i want to record gameplay on roblox using the laptop with specs above and will it seem smooth enough? |

| I would record the Video in a lower setting, because your Laptop may lag on high setting for recording, so either try recording in 3/10 Roblox setting or automatic. |

| P.S yes, your laptop should be fine for Roblox gaming, but not at the highest setting on some games. |

The processor is barely good enough, but it will run roblox. But other games will have a ad time because today's standarts are mostly quad core processors. 2.5 GHz is enough, but some boosting with Intel XTU would be nice if possible.
Intel HD Graphics isn't a graphics card, it's integrated into your processor, and we all know the GMA Series isn't for gaming and the performance may be pretty bad.
Shared graphics card means it's integrated into your CPU / Motherboard and will use it's resources.
8 GB RAM is enough, it's the sweet spot for gaming these days.
Hard drive capacity won't affect your gaming performance, and 1 TB Is enough. |

| The architecture and threads included with your i5 series compensate for lower clockspeeds, your processor has speed step technology enabled which usually means under proper power conditions; can boost clock speeds to around 3.0 Ghz. You can always download TurboBoost online, and benchmark your CPU and see what its stably capable of. Your specs exceed the minimum, and the recommended. Your system should be able to handle ROBLOX and recording just well. Your best bet is downloading OBS Game recorder, ## ######## built in recording software is not optimized for anybody, not even me, and drops frames dramatically during gameplay. You're fine. |

I mostly agree.
But some issues, you don't need to install TurboBoost, it comes with your motherboard or CPU. It's almost always activated automatically and is only disabled when your PC Thermal throttles. The U Series are lower powered processors for Notebooks and Laptops. and is not fully overclockable, but you can try XTU. OBS is a very good recording program because it's free, professional and doesn't affect performance. |

You will 100% be fine. Most of these people don't know what they're talking about. Just record using your GPU and ROBLOX will eat your CPU, like normal. |

| Very funny, though ROBLOX is more CPU-Based it won't allow Intel HD Graphics to record with the Software. There is no software created by intel for recording and it won't support shadowplay. |

| I don't he's talking about recording with the built-in ROBLOX recording software as it is very low-quality. There are tons of software that will allow you to record using your GPU. I used to record gameplays (Including ROBLOX) using my iGPU, on OBS. |

I agree, but OBS Isn't just GPU Bound, it also uses the CPU to round the data into the disk.
But yes, i agree with you.
Another small factor is the recording quality, you can change it if you are the developer, go into the ROBLOX Studio settings and you can set the recording quality. |

| Alright wow thanks. Didnt expect so many replies. I want my laptop to not only be able to play/record roblox but also livestream if possible and be used for video editing with sony vegas for example. I am considering buying a 650 pound laptop i5 8 gb ram 1080p nvidia 940nm graphics card but wondering if thats over the top and something cheaper could do the job with minimal lag? |
