The title looks stupid because of the limit. Storyline: about a week ago I discivered her kittens in a nasty barrel in our shed. I took them out for a bit so i could pressure wash the barrel and put some bedding in it. They love the bedding, but she isnt cleaning them. They are getting poop crusted into the fur on their bellies and one of them has blisters on its feet. They are also rather small for their age, I have raised numerous litters of barn cats over the years and these are the smallest and dirtiest I have ever seen. They just stare at the edge of the barrel, instead of walking around like most kittens their age. I don't want them to suffer. Should I put them down?

I can't put down the mother. The mother is perfectly healthy and friendly. Plus my sister loves playing with the mother.

Come to think of it thag is probably why the kittens are so scrawny. The mother cat is always playing with my sister. I think the mother cat is 10 months old as well, so she is rather young for a mother cat.

Poor babies
They make kitten formula. You might have to bottle feed them. I had to do that with Jake when I first adopted him.
Also try to bathe them to get the poop out of the fur, and I think they make some kind of lotion to put on animals' paws so get that and use it to take care of the blisters.

Update: The vet said the kittens should be alright but I shouldn't let them be by the mother cat at all.

you can still keep the mother cat since your sister plays with her a lot just don't let her near the kittens like the vet said like compact suggested you could feed them food with a ######## instead

Just care for them yourself. That mother cat obviously doesn't deserve them.

i had to raise 3 kittens before giving away 2 of them and keeping 1.
however they already grew their teeth, you're gonna have to clean them and feed them with kitten formula.
you can find that stuff at Petsmart
and that concludes this post |

My dad found a kitten at his jump all alone. It's a few weeks old. Female. The name so far is Misty. She can't be alone for more than 5 seconds without whining. So I usually hang out with her for a hour or two every morning.
