I think I failed, the batter is currently resting until it gets that film on top of itself
Here are some things that may have led me to this point:
1. Overmixed the batter I think this is the step that people fail the most because I was counting every time "folded and squished" the batter but then I lost count so I just checked it every two folds. Idk if it's probably the equipment I used (a wooden spoon) to fold the batter since most people use a spatula, but When I checked my batter it just fell in one huge glob, and people say it should fall in a ribbon or in several drops, so I folded it like 4 more times and it fell in a ribbon. However when I put it in a ziploc bag so I can pipe the cookies onto the parchment it just ran. If this actually works then... wow those are some large macarons. 2. Didn't sift the dry ingredients correctly Kroger didn't have any almond meal so I had to make the almond flour myself. I got 3/4 cup of silvered almonds, blended it, added 1 cup powdered sugar so I won't make almond butter, blended that, and sifted it once, blended the remaining chunks, then sifted it again. But from 3 feet away I can see little dots on the cookies. 3. I think I have claustrophobia My house is so crowded and there's so many things in the kitchen it makes me stressed and I can't focus correctly. 4. People are just plain annoying. Let me focus please.
Everything else turned out fine. I waited 30 minutes so the egg whites can go to room temp, and managed to whip them to stiff peaks. I think that's what I should've done for the meringue cookies (https://forum.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=217847168 I SWEAR IF I MAKE SOME NEW HIPSTER TREND CALLED "MER INGUE BARK" IM GOING TO CRY). While making the meringue cookies I thought the eggs were supposed to be REALLY COLD. Yeah I mixed up Heavy Cream with Egg Whites. :\ I dyed the eggs blue with some food coloring so.....

I just tried the batter (I'm not afraid of Salmonella). I can feel the almonds in my mouth.

I think I took them out of the oven early and I destroyed like 5 while trying to take them off the pan since they're still sticking

welp
out of the 15 cookies i put in the oven only 10 managed to not be bad
i can see why macarons are so expensive now
im probably NOT going to make this again
I want to try candy making next episode, so we're probably going to be making Turkish Delights b/c why not
i need to stop challenging myself
