tbh i don't care of the president, but i do care of the environment.
laws can be overridden.
airstrikes on civilian targets are already forgotten 10 days later because somehow a celebrity does something.
but the earth needs us to start doing renewable sources of energy.
and also, death laser mega tank reliant on electricity is something i want in 20 years just so i can buy one after stealing from the bad guys in the desert |

We pulled out of the paris agreement because despite the fact that china emites approx 29.6% of all CO2 emissions, they're not paying anything, or implementing any new procedures until the year 2030. We're footing the bill over 15 trillion dollars to decrease earths temperature by a single degree, which nasa claims will be about half a degree over the next fifty years, but then it will go back up. It will cost us about 2.5 trillion GDP, while cutting the jobs of over 400,000 people. 200,000 of which are blue collar manufacturing jobs. The people who support backing out of this agreement do not all say that it's because climate change isn't real. It's that the plan gives us virtually no change in temperature, for tons of money that we honestly don't have.
If you want to understand why we backed out, you can't think of it from the tiny perspective from which you are. You need to view it from an economic scope.
If you still think you're right, feel free to spew more economically illiterate garbage.

first off, nice copy and paste
and yeah, I think I know all that. but i'm here to give the reason that came out of his mouth like fr. i'm not here to argue either. I don't mind that he pulled out but you're here assuming things. all the reasons you gave are things I agree with and I honestly don't disagree with his decision. just the way he said it at his press conference. don't try to act high up either with that copy and paste you prob got off a fox news article smh. |

"but the earth needs us to start doing renewable sources of energy."
Yeah there are still countries that don't have energy. Cutting our natural resources and replacing them with "clean" energy is garbage. Germany did this. They ended up having energy droughts, they would have to pay other countries for energy, or they would have energy surpluses where they would have to sell the rest and still lose money doing it.
it costs too much.
If we implemented the paris accord, we would see energy prices in the U.S. going up 14-20%.
They ARE laughing at us. We are not able to compete with them. You think china and India have any form of EPA preventing them from manufacturing? If you want to stop climate change, force those two to cut down on their CO2 emissions. China should be forced to cut there's by 20% over the next 10 years.
You guys are silly.

"Copy and paste"
I'm sitting here typing this out. I literally spend my entire life studying politics and computers.

What he stated is factually correct, it just didn't have a very indepth explanation because it was a press conference, not a presentation to congress.

of course they're not laughing diuto, they're simply celebrating that we made their goal - overcoming the US - a hell of a lot easier.
besides macron has made it completely clear that this is a political argument and not an environmental one. if it was about the climate, he would be happily open to re-negotiations to get the US back into the deal (because the US in the deal at any level period is better than the US out completely).
