Planning on reading: Gates of Fire 1984 Ulysses (is this book any good?) The Old Man and the Sea (is this book any good?)

Watchmen Graphic Novel
Extremely good. Intelligent and thought provoking.
There's a movie as well.

@eeoa, no science fiction. The modern genre/urban gets quite boring. Not too much female presence in books
@Viceprez, I tried and it was too boring my dude
@crock, doesn't look as if I'd enjoy it
@altair, not a fan of sci-fi my dude, does look good though my dude
@hazyfu, not a fan of graphic novels my dude
@clearpilot, looks like more of a thriller

dune is pretty sci-fi but it's almost more fantasy than sci-fi (e.g. guns aren't used at all). it's also pretty philosophical, but if you don't like sci-fi at all i would probably still avoid it
it's like ASOIAF in space with muslims |

read 1984, take a day or two to soak in everything and make connections. right after that read animal farm and make sure to connect it with stalin and ww2. both books have had the greatest influence on my from all the books i have read and the principles that i have learned from them are still fresh in my mind today
