if you didn't already know, when punk sorta "died out" in the 80's, post-punk became a thing.
it's a pretty broad category, but typically they sound like punk songs, but they sounded broody, bass-heavy, and often made use of some electronic sounds, like synthesizers. the lyrics were sometimes not about politics either. you can think of it as the in-between of punk rock and goth rock, because that's what it was.

punk didnt die out in the 80s, hardcore was pretty prevalent...
Alright - this post is coming from a veteran™ who can actually READ and WRITE music, and I play acoustic guitar for anyone who MUST know. Plus, this post is aimed for people who have some knowledge on music theory. |
