While the following message should be spread to as many people as possible, I think it's best to have it placed in this subsection because it primarily concerns us as ROBLOX YouTubers: those of us who entertain people and have a steady following. This is a meditation of sorts about the great responsibility we have as role models to children, and on the other hand, this is a response to nameless individuals who would abuse that privilege to needlessly ruin the time of others.
On the night of June 4th, the culmination of raids on the ROBLOX forums managed to force the moderators to place a 13-year limit on everyone who could post. It was only one of the new extremes that have been taking place to once again deny a "popular YouTuber" of their efforts to get their account unbanned. Much of the events leading up to this was carried out live on Twitch, where the individual ordered around his followers to spread the word and try every possible outlet to get in contact with ROBLOX's higher-ups.
I have a pretty significant presence on these forums, which I humbly can't deny, but above all I think the importance of the forum being there, for anyone really, is very important. If a raid disrupts it, or closes it for a long span of hours, that's a conversation not happening, or a user unable to get their question answered in the help subsections. I think this recent raid has gone too far and is an attack on forum culture as a whole - it's anti-democratic. It's practically censorship. And it's a point that's been overlooked by the individual conducting these actions.
Watching the archived stream on Twitch, I saw a child drink in every form of praise and positivity they could possibly get. They would just only have to suggest "should we do this?" and instantly there would be dozens, possibly hundreds of people trying to carry it out, to please their master like a hive mind of braindead insects. It worried me how much of his stream became this "echo chamber" for drama, where every question he posed was agreed with by a majority of his fans ("spam Y in the chat if you think I'm right") and a question never dawned to them; of what could be the point of generating this trouble if nothing is ever going to be done.
At no time in ROBLOX's history has a person ever been unbanned because of a social movement. In essence for the people outside the movement, in their eyes it only further criminalizes the person behind it. And for the site-maintainers who have a duty to keep everything uninterrupted for the majority of players, constant disruption from one person in particular further cements their hatred and opposition. What I'm trying to say is that it will never get anywhere - and I think deep down this is known and instead it's a test of how everyone's patience can be tested for the lulz. And donations. You greedy swine.
The admins will not, and can not turn over their decision no matter how much a person threatens them with their fanbase. Doing so would mean a "popular YouTuber" has tremendous privilege over normal folks; it would be the biggest definition of a selfish celebrity that the community has ever seen. No, to justify the tantrum-throwing by having it be the solution is impossible.
If anything, this should be a lesson to all creators-- that catering to an audience with the lowest-of-the-low capacity for morality means that our opinions and suggestions will be absorbed or carried out without question. We have extreme influence over these kids by dragging them into our "hype". We make them believe they matter by constantly responding over the air that we "appreciate you guys". And while most of us enjoy having fans that can think for themselves, it's still our responsibility to be the smarter ones, the role models, as plain as it seems to keep repeating.
I don't want to ramble too long but the salient point is this: when will it be realized that we, as people outside the issue, don't deserve to be raided - and that this individual, the root of the cause, has used up all his options trying to get the admins to notice them and has failed time and again to come across as responsible to them (I think the part in the stream where their official ban appeal was shown, consisting of just a string of "please please please" and "I was goofing off" was especially funny - way to prove everyone else right, hero.)
As caustic of the personalities these YouTubers are, they do unfortunately still get viewers, and that's a thing we need to either deal with or ignore. It's out of our control.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and feel free to add your take on the discussion. |

honestly, what made me most upset about the situation is the paragraph he put on his twitch page, claiming that this was done with "no malicious intent" and was only to "spread a message". it was essentially an extremely exaggerated and nice way of saying that he started a raid. it's really disappointing to see someone using their fans as their personal army with no actual caring for them whatsoever, especially over something so trivial. it's like a bratty 10 year old in the body of a 15 year old

Full support on this thread.
Funny enough, I was watching QuackityHQ's video, "ROBLOX IS SHUTTING DOWN MY CHANNEL" where it involves him obsessively raiding the forums and spamming it which ridiculous immature messages. I don't know how anyone finds this funny, it's cringy, it's rude and just very disrespectful to the forum community who just want to post sensible topics on it. It's also a very selfish act as it intereupts Moderator's times having to deal with stupid raids like QuackityHQ's and not allowing them to focus on more important issues.
If you want to see the video, search "ROBLOX IS SHUTTING DOWN MY CHANNEL" into youtube. It's a sadistic fanbase.

I agree all the way. Quack does not care for his fan base, and he is inconvenient to us who want to use the forum legitimately. To be honest, I think the fans are just agreeing to his order just so they can fit in, it's like a mindless army listening to a horrible leader who does not deserve any power at all.

| Honestly it kind of seems like ######## did in fact win, considering all you youtubers seem very salty that the forums were down for a single day, and that he has a larger fanbase... |

I fully agree with this, It's honestly just sad to see someone waste alot of their time to ruin others' "fun" or communication I shall say, just for the sake of "Le funni joke XDDD", It really is sad if you think about it;
For us as a community, we really don't have an option either way; Yea, some people can call him out for it, but it's only gonna make the matters alot worse; Just avoid him and his fanbase as much as possible and you will be fine.
