I'm trying to get the tone (or something like the tone) of the lead guitarist here.
https://youtu.be/JouXiYlytkk?t=74
I know basically nothing about tones, pedals, effects, etc. But I do want to purchase some multi-effects pedal or something.
Any idea on what gear I would need, or what amp settings I should use to sound something like the guitarist who I linked above?
Thanks :))))

Actually, most of us here play both electric, and acoustic. Sadly, though, the video is not available for me, but I will bump your thread.

The lead tone you are looking for is sort of a clean tone with a bit of gain, and possibly a hint of chorus. They may be using a tremolo pedal with a few of the chords.
What is your budget for an amp?

I have around £250 to spend (which is about $320). I've got an amp atm though, its pretty basic. Just with treble, mid, bass, gain, presence & reverb settings.
I was hoping i could just get a pedal which would give me more options instead of splashing out on a new amp :p |

My amp is similar. I generally use a lot of effects pedals to make up for it.
I think what you buy will really depend on the music you enjoy, then.
What else do you like, besides that indie/electronic/alt rock band?

Also, I think what you are looking at seems pretty cool. I'd take a look at some reviews before buying though.

Most of the music I play is alt/indie/rock really, nothing too heavy. (arctic monkeys, the strokes, cage the elephant, the white stripes, etc)
I've checked out a bunch of reviews on the behringer v amp 3, it seems like it is very good for the price and everything is very positive.
I dont know if it is right for the type of music i play though? |

considering its multitude of effects, i am sure it can be used for a lot of things
and YouTube has several videos of people playing with it if you still aren't sure
