I've already programmed a game in java using JavaFX, along with competing and winning several competitions, so it's not like I don't know how to program. I'm simply looking for something better. I remembered I used to play on this website all the time and thought I'd give it a shot, and I've managed to do simplistic things like for loops, get children, and vectors, yet much of the API is outdated and unhelpful in complicated subjects. It would be great if I had someone to help show me the way around, or at least drop some tips here. (Btw I tried some camera manipulation and it seems like the scriptable type is broken? Just me?)
Note: pardon my autocorrect I'm on mobile. I probably won't check back on this post for a few hours so thanks ahead of time |

Mm no there's nothing wrong with Enum.CameraType.Scriptable- you have to script it yourself which is why it doesn't do anything on its own.
"yet much of the API is outdated and unhelpful in complicated subjects. " ^ that's really not true, Roblox typically has very accurate wiki documentation, and if the subject is too old or out of date, then it's deprecated

| To clarify what I meant by broken, the CFrame appears to work for position, but not for focus. By the documentation being poor, I meant it doesn't quite explain how different function affects that object. I might just be looking the the wrong place. |

| The wiki is pretty updated. Like Soybeen said, anything that's outdated becomes deprecated. Even that being said, I came to Roblox after using C# and Unity for ages, so I can understand how frustrating it can be to figure everything out. If you need help, feel free to message me and I'll try my best. |

Does cam.Focus not work? I tried both cam.Focus = part cam.Focus = CFrame.new(part.position) and neither worked in scriptable |

| If you're dealing with a Scriptable cam don't even bother with the Focus/Subject, especially when CFrame is so powerful |

| I thought focus purely had to deall with how the render engine determines what to really detail and what not? I don't think it actually focuses on an object in the sense you would think but rather makes the parts close to the focus more detailed.. Could be wrong but that's what I read somewhere. |

| I've sent you a friend request. I am in the exact same position as you: being a competent Java programmer (also doing well in competitions) trying to move to Roblox. I wonder if you would like to work together, since we are likely to have the same problems/misconceptions about the language. |
